I am reposting this after a delay because I was threatened with the police and harassed by the Manager and a random old woman she was apparently mates with as of the 4th of February 2012, Claudia Reynolds, and I was not sure why initially because she would not explain in English (even though she speaks English pretty well). She seemed very upset and followed me down the street when I was leaving the hotel, with said old lady who was also pretending to talk on the phone with immigration (I know she was pretending because I don't think they work at 9PM on Saturday nights). My boyfriend and I had to visit immigration to clear up false charges of an unpaid bill (I paid in full. I have the contract and receipts to prove it) from the woman that runs this hotel. ||Unfortunately I have had a terrible experience in this hotel. It's a shame because the building itself has plenty of character and it has a lovely roof terrace (although it is not really set up for guests). I was looking for a long term stay and approached this hotel for a price quote. Normally it is 220 bolivianos a night (so I was told by both the Manager and one of the staff members) but after a fairly long, but professional, negotiation with the Manager, we agreed a price of 75 bolivianos a night (2400 bolivianos for 32 days - 11th Jan to 11th Feb). Sadly, this is where the managers professionalism ended. I am not sure if she had a problem with the deal she agreed (FYI it was for a room, sheets and towels and did not include breakfast, maid service, toilet paper, soap etc) or just with me(!) but after this point she became uncommunicative, could barely make eye contact, or smile and would walk away during conversations. Such as the conversation when building work started in the very echo-ey hotel at 8AM one morning and continued for two days. I had asked her to tell me next time this was going to happen in advance and this seemed to really anger her. Her ability to communicate with me got worse and worse and culminated in an argument between us because she had turned the internet off without informing me (part of the contract I have- that she is adamant to enforce – is that I have access to the internet) and I needed it to do some work. At this point she told me I 'did what I wanted' (when asked for clarification on this, she could not give a reason, although she did say that there was a smell of garlic on a plate had used to cook dinner so perhaps that is what she meant) and that I needed to 'behave'. She was also visibly shaking with anger. I told her that I thought she was extremely unprofessional and she told me I had to “stop treating the hotel like my home”. Interesting because I was paying to live there so in fact it was my home for the pre-agreed time of 11th Jan to 11th feb, but I had not abused or mistreated the hotel facilities, or our contract, in any way. The way I treated the hotel? (and the way I treat my own home for that matter). We were clean, tidy, and when using the kitchen we always cleaned up after ourselves. Part of our agreement was that my boyfriend stay and he is the most charming, polite and generous person you could ever meet. So, our behaviour and our respect for the building and its amenities was flawless. The manager was also responding to my professional questions during our argument about the internet by pulling faces and then speaking in Spanish out of spite when I reminded her I could not speak Spanish that well. This is the kind of behaviour I would expect from a pre-pubescent spoilt girl not a manager of a hotel. I am just not used to this level of unprofessionalism and downright immaturity when staying in hotels or doing business with someone. She also threatened me with her lawyer after I informed her that if she did not honour the contract I would go to the police. Good times! It was just like Eastenders, I tell you. ||||Anyway, I'll stop banging on as this is boring, but don't stay here. The manager seems to hate having guests there and I feel is the most unprofessional woman I have ever had the misfortune to interact with - the hotel is empty 90% of the week as far as I can see - it's a BIG hotel - just do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. ||||Or, as you can see, I got a great deal you could always try and get a similar deal as they seem to need the money, there are rarely any guests here. |||| I left on the 4th of february because I didn't want to stay in a place with such an ugly vibe any longer so they actually made a £60-odd tip! My contract finished on the 11th of February. Also they asked my boyfriend to leave early – which we complied with as even though it was a rule the manager made up – and I wanted to stay in a hotel with him. As previously mentioned when I left on the 4th I was followed down the street by the manager and a random old lady she appeared to be friends with and harassed about something “I had done”. When I asked her what I had done, she said “That doesn't matter” . Seriously, I was agog at just how pathetic an...

I stayed here for a night in Nov. 2015. I booked a room with a single bed, but was given a room with 2 queen beds. The room was spacious and clean. I liked that it had a desk for me to get some work done and lots of shelving for storage. The wi-fi was good (by Bolivian standards). The shower didn't take long to heat up and the water pressure was good. Breakfast was good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I wasn't sure where to get a taxi to the bus station, but the staff helped me flag down two taxis in front of the hostel (the 1st taxi wasn't interested in going to the bus station for some reason). I stored my luggage in a back office while I took a walk in the morning. Great location a block from the main square and many of the popular attractions and restaurants. I had a room facing the street. There was some street noise during the day, but it was quiet at night. It is more like a hotel than a hostel, so if you're backpacking and looking to meet people there may be better options. For me, it was a nice break from staying in...

We stayed in this place for 4 days. The staff were friendly, apart from the owner - a short old lady with dark hair. The breakfast is good if you manage to get served by one of the nicer members of staff - we were given toasted sandwiches with scrambled egg and ham. The next day we were served by the owner and were told abruptly there would be no sandwich and she gave us some stale bread with butter.||||We didnt let her ruin our overall experience until we came to check-out. Me and two friends shared a 3 bed room with en-suite bathroom. When we came to pay at check-out the owner tried claiming there had been four guests in the room! She tried claiming we had been sneaking another person in!!||||We refused to pay the extra money and left.||||The hotel was empty, and will remain so as long as the witch that owns it is around.||||Such a shame, an otherwise nice...
