This is a really pretty hotel in an old building set around a courtyard full of flowers. Our room and bathroom were very spacious and had heating which was very welcome at night. The breakfast buffet was very nice with a number of hot items cooked to order.|The hotel has some quirky areas such as a reading room full of comfy sofas and a spiral staircase to a roof terrace with seating.|The hair dryer was one of those which was attached in the bathroom and isn’t very powerful so I asked at reception if they had another. They said they would have to ask the owner. Later they told me that if the owner had one they would bring it to me in the morning. Unfortunately by the time they turned up next day we had been up an hour, showered and had breakfast so it was too late. It just seems odd that in a hotel of this standard they don’t have any spare hairdryers.|The hotel is a 5 minute walk down to the main square which is ideal because it means that it is very quiet although I don’t know why but when we were there there were a lot of brass bands practicing from early in the morning to quite late at night. It didn’t disturb us though and I would definitely...

Read moreWe loved this place. The colonial style is lovely and the staff are all excellent. We had a nice check in and our room was comfortable and spacious. We wished we had two nights here instead of just once because it was so nice. The decor is interesting as well. ||The only downside is that the kitchen/dining room seemed to be short staffed when we ate dinner there. It took two hours for us to eat and all we ordered we main dishes and drinks--in fact, they had to stop seating people because they had gotten so far behind. The food was really tasty, though. And the views from the restaurant over the city are terrific. Breakfast, however, rolled along fine with lots of selections, made-to-order foods, and even loose leaf tea and a variety of coffees!||We were happy with this place and would...
