I had a flight diverted to São Paulo, and my itinerary changed around. Unfortunately this gave me a 14 hour layover in GRU. On arrival I was beyond tired, after a quick Google search I found this was in the airport and decided to give it a try. Everything was great. It was easy to find. My recommendation is use the interactive Airport map on the TripIt Application on IOS, as it’s up to date and shows you exactly where to go. ||The staff was great at checkin, my português is weak at best. They were very accommodating and help me understand everything in English. I had to wait roughly twenty minutes from arrival to when I had a room as they were cleaning it. With the current exchange rates I paid $76 for 8 hours. My suggestion if not paying in Reals, use a credit-card that has no foreign transaction fees. This way you get the best possible exchange rate. ||The room was clean, I was on the second floor so it was also very quiet. As noted in other reviews the air conditioning was very cold! Just make sure you have a sweatshirt with you. The bathroom and showers are communal. They clean them after each use and tape the door so you break the seal to enter knowing it’s a clean room. After sleeping for six hours I woke up and had a great hot shower. I felt fully refreshed. ||If you need some sleep and a hot shower on a layover in GRU you can’t go wrong staying here. It’s clean, and the...
Read moreIf you’re into paying expensive Sao Paulo prices to be in an inexpensive little shithole, being confused, not getting the convenience you paid for, and not getting any help from the unfriendly staff (particularly their current manager in May 2025, Helen), this is the place for you.
response for Slaviero Sao Paulo general manager, Carla Costa: although Slaviero won't allow a reply to their response to my original review (above), I feel the need to do so. I want to point out to more people out there who'll hopefully read this review carefully, that when you make reservations to a hotel called "Slaviero Guarulhos Airport," guess where you expect it to be? At Guarulhos Airport. At best, this name is confusing and, at worst, straight up deceiving.
Beyond this sketchy naming that quite a few people will (and have) likely fall(en) for, AT LEAST make your staff friendly enough to help, and, above all, make your local management wise and solution-seeking, rather than inflexible and impolite - particularly for 1st time costumers. This way Slaviero is able not to lose them (and their extensive circle of family, friends, and acquaintances) even before they could get a chance...
Read moreConvenient airport hotel but really hard to find unless you know where you are going. I am an American tourist that speaks little Portuguese. I spent over half an hour looking around the airport for this hotel. I had to ask one of the guards and he gave me good directions in English.
Google maps does a poor job leading you to this hotel as the airport has multiple levels. Also there is a lack of signs in the airport for the Hotel. If you call reception they will not be able to give you directions in English.
The rooms are clean but really small. Think 10 feet by 8 feet just enough space for you to fit your luggage and have a bed. In my case I had a bunk bed.
The bathrooms are located somewhere else and you have to share them, but the staff comes by every 10 minutes to clean them. Thankfully there are many bathroom rooms with showers and the staff tapes the door when they are done cleaning. You have to rip the tape to enter the bathroom so you know you are going into a clean bathroom.
I had a early morning flight the next day and i needed to be in the airport so convenience was very important to me. The hotel is definetely 3 stars but i wont...
