My wife, who has Titanium membership, and I stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel Sao Paulo from 3-11 August. We had a wonderful time. Upon arrival, Nelson at the front desk checked us in. He was outstanding, truly professional yet very warm, kind and friendly. Nelson gave us a room, a corner suite. that was above and beyond what we expected, so spacious and lovely. Several hours later I inquired about tours in and around Sao Paulo. The concierge, Sergio, was very nice and provided me with excellent advice. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to him and learned a lot about Sao Paulo.||The breakfast service at Neto was impeccable; we did not have lunch or dinner there. Unfortunately, I don't recall the names of all the terrific servers. Two were Gabriel and Marcia, but there were others as well who were just as hardworking and pleasant. The buffet seemed endless, with baked goods, fruits, eggs, meats, potatoes, cheeses, pastries, and yogurts. I'm probably forgetting something, but this provides an idea. By the way, one can also order from a menu with some delicious choices. My wife and I really liked the vegetable omelette and acai smoothie.||For snacks before dinner (or perhaps comprising dinner), the Executive Lounge fully met our needs. Lots of tasty salads, breads, cheeses, meats, pastries, and fruits.||When we checked out, Eva was so courteous and patient. I appreciated her assistance. Sayuri was also there. She really impressed me when I met her previously in the Executive Lounge. For a young person just beginning her career, she is incredibly knowledgeable and personable.||Just, a few comments pertaining to location. The hotel is not in the city center but getting around by Uber is easy. Traffic is heavy (at least the times we ventured forth) and not for the faint of heart. Motorcycles often come in a stream and pass within a hairbreadth of cars. Though everyone dives very fast, often almost bumper to bumper, figure around an hour to get to some of the world class museums and other sites in Sao Paulo. ||Our visit ended with a bang. On the way to the airport for our flight home, the Uber driver managed to stop suddenly in an attempt to avoid hitting the car in front of him which had come to a screeching halt. Regrettably, the car behind him did not, and crashed into our Uber car which then hit the one in front. Though a bit shaken and sore, we made our flight in time. ||My advice? Stay in the JW Marriott Sao Paulo if possible. And always keep your seatbelt fastened when...
Read moreThe word that first comes to mind when I think about this hotel is phenomenal. The service started before I got to the hotel. I connected with them on the mobile chat to ask them to provide information so that a driver could pick me up and bring me to the hotel. That went flawlessly. The driver met me on time, and we proceeded to the hotel. The first person I met when I pulled into the hotel was Gabriel, the bellman. He met me with a warm welcome to assist me with my bags. He escorted me to the receptionist, Rodrigo, who assisted me with check-in. He thanked me for being a Mariott Rewards member and patiently went over the rate, what the hotel had to offer, upgrade options, and all the amenities that came with being a Marriott Rewards member. After a long trip, I wanted to get a massage, and even though it was a busy weekend, he got me an appointment. He then walked me to the elevator to show me how the key works to get to the room floor. He told me to enjoy my stay and that if anything was needed, just come down, and they would take care of it. I went to the room, which had lovely, immaculate decor and an amazing view. Then, I proceeded to the executive lounge to get some hors d’oeuvres before my massage. I might be spelling her name wrong, Ms Eoa, but she knows who she is and was so nice. She encouraged me to try the different Brazilian treats that were prepared. She offered me coffee and other drink options. She was so friendly, had the best conversation, and told me so much about the city and places of interest to visit. Then I went to the spa to get my massage. I had another great experience with the hotel staff. They guided me to the changing room, and I enjoyed the moment in the waiting room while I was waiting for my service. The massage therapist, Thabata, came out to receive me. She told me she enjoyed giving massages for over 20 years. She didn’t proceed to put some warm water in a foot tub and wash in some soaking ingredients. Then, my massage started with the added hot stones, which was so good. I woke up, and it was over—one of the best massages I have ever received. I returned to my room feeling refreshed after a long day of traveling. Thanks to all the staff at the JW Marriott, from the bellman, receptionist, housekeeper, spa staff, executive lounge staff, phone operator, and room service. The only bad thing about my day was that I...
