Market Café Restaurant & Lounge offers a buffet experience that is both satisfying and memorable. I visited during a promotion (buy 1, get 1 free), which made it an excellent value for the quality and variety provided. For me I think if they don't do a promotion, I still think it good compare to the few other in phnom penh. And what I like is there is no time limit, so you can chill.
For the food:a is impressive, with a wide range of dishes catering to diverse tastes. Each item is fresh, flavorful, and of great quality, showing the care and attention put into the preparation. Whether you're craving international cuisine or local favorites, there's something for everyone. I recommend the Crème Brûlée Dessert. it still in my mind now, it so creamy ( but I'm a little disappoint as well because they running out of it, because it too good)
The environment is elegant and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for both casual outings and special occasions like dating. The staff enhances the experience with their attentive and friendly service, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
If you’re looking for a buffet that combines variety, quality, and great service, Market Café Restaurant & Lounge is definitely worth a visit—especially during promotions!
If you never been there, I recommend to try it for once, and don't forget to do a booking.
Edit: above review is about 3 months ago. And I check it out again around last week maybe 16 Mar 2025. Just like everybody said, this is a premium expensive luxury place at least try one in your life. But I didn't listen, I try two time. and the second experience ain't that Great. Food: everything are the same, nothing much new. The great thing that lead me to check this out for the second time is sea food. But this time sea food is not that Big, and when You bring it to a grill section, it turn out feeling like fish, Because they grill river fish in the same place. Ruin the flavour of sea food ( one thing that lead me to check it again).
Service: Good, but only when I found them. if not you have a hard time calling them, since i don't know where they are, I see no one. the grill section again, they busy talking which is not grill the sea food, lead to me waiting. until the manager (maybe) come to check and see no sea food ready.
Overall my second experience is ain't that Great. Like they say Try once in your life,...
Read moreFirst time visit this Market Cafe Saturday, 13 February 2021 for lunch. It is inside the Hyatt Regency Hotel, just behind the old house which is preserved as the integral part of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Phnom Penh.
It is setup under clear glass and steel frame that is bright during the day; so it does not need to turn on the bulb, which means save energy too.
When you arrive and going in through the old house building, to the right hand, at 2 o'clock, you will see a small pool in black ceramics which is surrounded by small stone. It is nice. While if you see to your front at 12 o'clock there is the cashier and waitress pool.
I arrived in the Market Cafe at around 14:00 pm. there were some empty seats. Other seats were occupied already. Around 30 minutes later, all the seats were already occupied. So, it is advisable that you pre-book your seat in advance, especially in the peak time.
Waitress will approach you and offers your seat. They are polite, helpful and try to talk to you on light subject, and ask your insight about the food and that you just had. They will also chat with you about your next destinations, or what country you are coming from. That was good, I think.
About the food and drink itself, I think it taste standard, and fresh. Not too hot, not too spicy too. It is important particularly for establishment like this international chain hotel to keep its food and drink are all safe to consume. Of course, if you want to know the real taste of the food, you go to local vendor. That way you should fine the original taste of that food.
As for the price, I would say that they are normal and not overly priced. The price is comparable to other restaurants such as the ones in AEON Mall, Noromall, or other restaurants of stand alone building.
The ambience is good, and cozy. Very convenience particularly if you just want to "leave me alone", you can choose to be seated beside the pool. That was perfect place. I enjoyed my lunch with my wife very much. For sure, I will visit this place again in the next breakfast, lunch or...

The seafood are fresh. The grilled lamp ribs and beef are juicy and well quality. There are food corners but don’t have specific purposes for two grilled stations. All with limited options not like other buffet places. Their cakes carrot and chocolate are yummy and rest look tasty but I don’t know when they display like this it is inconvenient to take as it need to serve one by one from their chef. They do not have specific Khmer food corner only Khmer noodle and need to request waiter to do for us.
Staff: I think as it is in 5 star hotel I expect their staff need more customer service improvement. There are many waiters and chef but the service is not delivery well. When I asked to prepare one plate of salad for me, they reject and asked me to myself as they served only for guest who is not in buffet customer. The seafood are only steam or boil or fresh oyster. I saw he helped grilled shrimp for another customer earlier. When I asked chef if he could grill oyster for me, he said he can’t help grill while he is not busy with his work. They have ice cream but do not display with only one option ( I don’t know why other guest know)
Cutlery set : they do not set the table well. There are miss dessert folk and spoon,...
