Been to Canmore numerous times and never came here but I'm genuinely confused at all the 5 star reviews.
$45 for two people. A Bubba, garden goddess, two coffees and a cold press juice.
Another generic Toronto style, big city spot that tries to be hip and focus more on their image and aesthetics than the quality of their products.
Coffee had 4 options. 3/4 of the containers were empty and the last was warm.
Garden Goddess was almost exactly that. A wrap of decent size, jammed with half a head of lettuce and some vegetables for $13 plus tax. Wasn't amazing but not horrible. Just wouldn't be able to justify 13$.
The Bubba was as dry as can be. Got a cinnamon raisin. I love cinnamon raisin, especially with peanut butter and banana. Had the same density and taste of a Walmart bagel. Like plywood. No flavor no crunch no substance.
Friends of mine own a bakery with bagel in the name and deliver nothing but a superior product at a much lower price, in Toronto, that has people lined out the door days on end for the last 20 years. I think advertising as a 'Bagel Company' is misleading.
The amount of peanut butter on this seemed as they tried to get the last little bit from the empty bottom of the Jiffy jar. There was what seemed to be a whole banana on there which was good but with the lack of peanut butter to hold them, they fell off immediately upon the first bite. $9 for a tiny tasteless bagel with no peanut butter and some banana. Take your money to A&W.
I can only speak for what we ordered but seeing the others orders coming to the tables looked unpromising. Had me questioning my decision as I stood and waited for my name to be called.
I'm genuinely confused how someone orders a tiny denseless bagel a smudge of cream cheese and tomato slice, calls that a 5. To each their own.
Honestly, it's a tourist trap. High prices and average quality masked by a fancy and hip looking environment and clever/hip product names. Much like most of the places in this town unfortunately.
There's other spots to get a decent breakfast for a comparable or lower...
Read moreCharming Breakfast Spot – Rocky Mountain Bagel, Canmore While visiting Canmore, I decided to stop by Rocky Mountain Bagel Co. for breakfast, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. I ordered the Breakfast Lox Bagel, and I must say—it was excellent. The flavors were well-balanced, not too salty or overpowering, and the texture was perfect. The bagel itself was soft, aromatic, and not dry at all, which is often a concern with breakfast bagels. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared.
One of the highlights of this café is its layout and seating options. The space is large and cozy, with a relaxed vibe. There’s indoor seating, a small outdoor patio, and even a rooftop patio that offers a charming view and a more open-air feel. Parking is conveniently located right beside the café, which is a big plus in a busy area like Canmore.
The menu is impressively diverse, offering a wide range of bagels, spreads, and breakfast options. They also have a self-serve coffee station, which is both efficient and convenient. The decor is warm and playful—cute signs, cozy colors, and little touches that make the space feel welcoming. The staff were flexible and friendly, even taking the time to make personal recommendations based on what I was in the mood for.
That said, the biggest drawback was the long wait. There’s only one counter for taking orders, and the line moved very slowly. Food preparation was also quite slow, and I noticed several mistakes. While waiting for my order, I saw at least three mix-ups where food was brought to the wrong customers. It created a bit of confusion and delayed the service further.
Despite that, I still enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I’d be happy to return—hopefully during a quieter time of day when things run...
Read moreDate of Visit: Friday Feb 10, 2023 We stopped in to Rocky Mountain Bagel Co – for coffee and a quick breakfast on the go to start our day. This appears to be a very popular place for locals to come gather, hang out, and enjoy their coffee and bagels as the place packed when we arrived. The menu is fairly extensive with a lot of options to choose from. You can order many different types of sandwiches from breakfast options to different lunch items as well all served on your bagel of choice. We ordered 2 egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato on jalapeno cheddar bagels, 2 scones, and 2 regular coffees. I asked if they had any turkey of chicken sausage/bacon etc and unfortunately their meat options for breakfast sandwiches is limited to pork products – which we do not eat. They have carafes for self serve coffee – with a variety of types of coffee – about 4 options on the go when we were there.
They offer a variety of other baked goods such as brownies, squares, scones, cinnamon buns, etc. Everything looked so good – I wanted to try it all.
The vibe is very cool – casual. You could spend hours reading a book or chatting with your friends over a coffee. They have a lovely little outdoor patio – which would be great to enjoy your coffee looking at the mountains when the weather is a little warmer.
The price was fairly reasonable- for 2 bagel breakfast sandwiches, 2 Scones, and 2 large coffees – we paid about $35
The staff -were very nice and friendly – and our bagels were made very quickly.
There is a bit of parking around the building
I Would definitely come back next time we are in the area – the coffee was great, and the bagel was very satisfying. The scone was a nice...
