Spice Hut Indian Cuisine. — Restaurant in Alberta

This is a heads-up to the owners of this business. I'm a business owner too and I know how much hard work goes into running a business. You have a great facility and great food (5 star) but the service is absolutely the worst. We were there on April 16, 2022 around 4:30 PM. the place had 3 tables occupied at that time. It seemed like once we were seated, at a dirty table full of crumbs (we were seated with a menu), they forgot about us. About 20 minutes later, a server came to ask us if we were ready to order. I asked for the table to be cleaned first. She also apologized for the delay because they were so busy but the place wasn't even busy yet!

We had our 87 yr old mother with us so we didn't want to change tables at this point. The attitude was very bad when I asked the table to be cleaned. Another 10 minutes later, our server came (another one). She was very pleasant and seemed like the only one who cared about cleaning the next tables once the other clients had left (they were gone for a good 15 minutes). I can't remember our server's name but she was from the Czech Republic as per conversations. She was very good and maybe she could help you in having the right kind of servers and supervise for great service.

Once the food was ordered, we were surprised at how fast the food came! then we finished eating and waited half an hour to ask for take-out boxes! Our server was very busy running around cleaning tables and picking up the slack. then the boxes came and we waited again for the bill. We decided to go up to the counter to pay.

The worst thing was that nothing has changed since the last time we were there about a year ago! The problem was exactly the same. I took a new group of people this time and forgot about our last experience, which was really bad then too.

I am rating you 1 star for the service. I am sure that if you don't make changes to staff and coach them on customer service, you will not get repeat customers and get ratings like mine. The great food that you have deserves great ratings.

While we sat there, and it was getting busier, there was a group of about 8 people that came in and they were forgotten about as well. Dear owner, I hope you look at this review as an opportunity to make it better.

We are in Canmore a lot. I will give it one more chance the next time we go there. But that will be our deciding factor in if we ever go back after that.

To be honest, The phone kept ringing and it seemed like every one was running to attend to the phones instead of the people inside.

I make it my goal to eat every butter chicken in Alberta. This is by far the best one I’ve ever had, I nearly creamed in my pants after eating it for the first time in 3 years. Tears were brought to my eyes of pure joy. The chicken is so tender and flavourful to the point I could not walk. The rice is a perfect mix and not over or undercooked. The smell of the restaurant itself causes me to fall to my hands and knees and start praying to God with my thanks to bring this holy place to me. Even the mild butter chicken, despite my love for spicy foods leaves me with no other feeling other than pure bliss. If I lived half way across the entire world, without any mode of transportation apart form my feet, I’d walk all the way here just to eat the butter chicken. If I had to sell a piece of my liver, left kidney and entire autonomic nervous system for this butter chicken I would. This restaurant can have my first born son, daughter and my dog if that is what I need to eat the butter chicken. I would sell my soul to the devil for a singular whiff of the butter chicken. I love this butter chicken so much, if I have one recommendation, I recommend eating Spice Hut’s...

We went to Banff last week on our way back we stopped by with high expectations to eat delicious food there but when we entered the restaurant all the tables was messy scattered food everywhere nobody cares to clean it after requesting a staff came and cleaned it but not properly cleaned table was still greasy, when we were going to sit on the seats they were wet n greasy then we requested to clean the seats they just wiped out NOT properly cleaned the seats, now we were ready to order the food a staff said there is extra 15% charges when we ask why extra she said if you are more than eight people eating then this charges applies but we were only six people she said still needs to pay as she said earlier eight people now she came down to six people. Everything was ok to us because we want to eat but the attitude of the staff is very high that they think this is the only restaurant on the planet, we left the restaurant without eating, so that was very bad experience we will never ever go there in life and and definitely NOT recommend to anyone, I gave one star because there is no option...
