Our first stay here was in September 2023. We loved the Canadian Rockies so much that we decided to come back and experience a different season. We chose to stay our week visit here. We booked room 103 again, and we are very happy that we did. Everything was as we remembered it. Our room was clean and comfortable. We love the convenience of the restaurant down the hallway. We ate breakfast and lunch multiple times while we were there. Leo, who works in the restaurant, was awesome. He remembered us from our last visit, and he did everything to ensure that our visit was a great one. The Georgetown Inn is lucky to have him. We were also pleasantly surprised to be treated to homemade truffles from one of the chefs. They were very tasty. We will definitely be back!
We stayed here for 3 nights in room 103. I think that there are only two guest rooms on the first floor. We were happy not to be on one of the other floors. The room was very spacious. We had two queen beds with a separate living room area. Both rooms were a nice size as well as the bathroom. The tea set was an added touch that our son loved. We loved the convenience of the pub onsite. We ate all of our dinners here. The restaurant staff was very friendly and polite. We enjoyed our dinners. We loved the steak and chicken pies. The other menu items that we had were very good as well. Breakfast wasn’t our favorite here, but it compares to other places where we had breakfast in Canmore. The theme and decor were very nice. The view of The Three Sisters was nice. The front desk staff wasn’t the friendliest, but they got the job done. Our only serious complaint was the noise from exit door for the building near our room 103, which is near the end of the hallway. At night the door makes a lot of noise when closing. We would...
Read moreWe stayed 6 nights at the Georgetown Inn on a recommendation and chose a suite. The suite was a bedroom, with an ajoining living space and a separate bathroom. There was a free standing bathtub in the living space. In the room there was a fridge, a kettle, a coffee machine and tea and coffee bags. There were plenty of toiletries and nice soft towels. Our room was second floor and looked out onto the car park to the rear. The bed was large and comfortable. There was AC in the room but the unit was quite noisy, so we used this only when we had to. There was a TV in the room, which was not smart. Downstairs in the lobby there were flasks of coffee. We took breakfast here a few times and ate in the restaurant a few times too. The policy is only to service the room when it is requested, and we never needed that doing, so I can't comment on that. Front desk staff were very polite and friendly.||Breakfasts start at 8am each day and range in price from about 18-25CAD (pancakes to full english). They were always very well prepared and good value. The full English could sink a battleship. The coffee wasn't great so after the first visit we stopped taking the breakfast coffee and stuck with water. The evening meals leaned towards English bar meal style. Some savoury pie options, stick toffee pudding, eton mess, and there were daily specials where there were either additional menu items or discounts on certain menu items. Meals were generally 18-26 CAD. Drinks were good too, with a nice range on draught.||The car park to the rear looked small, but we were always able to get parked whenever we returned.||Any negatives? On one day there must have been an early restaurant delivery at 6 am which was directly beneath our window and, because we had the windows open, woke us up.||Would we stay...
Read moreI booked in advanced and I stayed in Georgetown Inn 3 nights September 7, 8, 9, 2020. I visit Canmore twice a year, once in April once in September for years. I wanted to try something different for accommodation this September, and this place looked very charming in the pictures. I have travelled in Canada past 47 years, and lived in Alberta for a half a century, this was the most expensive accommodation ( after I asked for senior citizen rates, and some of the very young people stayed there at the same time I stayed, paid fraction of what I paid for per night ) I stayed in, and also it was the dirtiest, filthiest place, I could not sit on the chair in my room, it was so dirty, the king bed in Queen's bedroom was very uncomfortable, very cheep sheets were very slippery. My room did not have water glasses, I had to ask for it, I also asked for a shower cap, they did not have it! The chairs and the carpets on the hallways were also very dirty, had to disinfect my shoes regularly after walking trough the hallways! I also happened to know for a fact that 2 of the hotels in Canmore have given free breakfast to its guests in brown paper bags, also they have given the 3rd night free to their guests! This place had nothing to offer when it came to any free breakfast! The young people helping at the front desk were very pleasant and sweet, I had no issues with them. As far as how much I paid to stay there in the condition my room was ( I am sure my room was not cleaned for at least a month, during this covid-19 pandemic ), I very strongly felt I have been taken advantaged for the first time ever in our beautiful country Canada! However, the only consolation I feel that, as long as this happens to me every 47 years, I will have to be ok. with it! Never again will stay...
