Read morePeter and Alexandra were the most excellent of hosts. If you have heavy luggage, just be aware there is a 14-15 step staircase to go upstairs to the rooms. At the top of the stairs is a small foyer. There is a fridge and table there, with ameneties designated for each of the rooms. Our room was right there off the foyer. Other rooms, I believe there are 3, are down a long narrow hall. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The mattress was especially nice. The bathroom was very nice. This felt really homey as opposed to the sterile feeling I get at most hotels. Back downstairs, on the first floor, there's a small but very comfortable dining room set up with 4 tables. Breakfast was prepared by the hosts and presented in a way that made us, as guests, feel special. The food, with Swiss influence, was delicious. We were fortunate enough to have 3 breakfasts. Not only was the food delicious and the presentation extraordinary, but they also provided bags to take leftovers. Those leftovers were excellent lunches! There are other nice little surprises that I won't spoil. Let me just say they are more than you'd expect at any fancy hotel. We loved the place and felt as if Peter and Alex welcomed us into their home - which it is. The location was also excellent. A neighborhhood setting that was away from the hustle and bustle of the very busy town of Banff, but close enough to walk to downtown in less than 10 minutes. We highly...
Read moreWords cannot really do it justice how good our time was here. Do yourself a tremendous favour and stay here. The rooms are wonderfully cozy and comfortable. The jet tub was awesome and fit two people. Albert and Esther are hospitable, friendly, and wonderful. And the breakfasts, oh the breakfasts. Every day a different main course in their 3-course breakfast. And when we wanted to go snowshoeing, they had some for us to borrow. Along with backpacks, walking poles, bear spray, and even bikes. They are amazingly hospitable, making sure to help and show us a good time. Chatting with them every day after breakfast was a highlight for sure. The location is wonderful. Had good scenery around it. It is only a 4-minute walk to Mainstreet. We will never forget our time here, my wife and I. 5 stars just aren't good enough. Google just won't let me rate it higher.
