I booked this room for a last minute stay with my fiancé. We knew it wouldn’t be “fancy”. I would have given a perfect score (considering the price and location) but felt their customer service came up very short because of a staff member named Christine.
PROS Room was tidy; sheets were clean TV, A/C or heat Location was a ten minute walk to Clifton Hill. Many restaurants a short walk away Free WIFI which was slow but worked when we were there Clean towels and sheets Water pressure and temperature was good 24/7 Denny’s is less than a minute walk away
CONS The staff like to work out of the Quality Inn so you’d need to walk there for check in or assistance Christine has a very nasty attitude. At first she was nice. When our key card didn’t work and the room could be seen as untidy through the window, I had to walk back to the Quality Inn. Christine was hiding, then rudely hussled back to Niagara Best Inn and had the audacity to say “when we book a room, it’s not guaranteed to be ready. We are really busy.” I did not see this written in any Term and Condition and will take this up with head office. Plus we got there at 4:30pm when our check in was at 4:00pm. I absolutely hate liars. There were less than 11 rooms booked that evening from what we would see (is that “busy” to them?! LOL). There was a housekeeper and when we had asked him if the room beside us was ready, he said yes. When we asked Christine if we could go into the neighbouring room, she had the nerve to say “did you not hear me? It’s not cleaned and not guaranteed.” If it wasn’t for my calming fiancé, she would have seen a fist. Christine said that the room beside us was booked but evidently was not in use the entire weekend. I think it may have had some other issue she was reluctant to say While we stood in the doorway of room 24 as the housekeeper cleaned it, he forgot to give us undecaffinated coffee for the machine, additional toilet paper and garbage bin. When my fiancé asked him for these items, we were given them right away There were pieces of the bed frame sticking out at the bottom which was a bit hazardous Parking is an extra $10 plus tax Our reservation said we were to get Bath Robes but we were not given any No mini-fridge or microwave. You’d have to walk to Quality Inn for ice Our bathroom door couldn’t close. The front door also seemed a bit flimsy The bathtub had someone’s old bar of soap in the soap dish No windows open
Overall I would go back if I can get the $50 CAD a night for a Saturday. It’s the cheapest that I found for our stay. I’m complete disgusted with their customer service, but hey, maybe I would be miserable if I...
Read moreThe Place is a miserable , which the hotel authority must immediately intervene and make it unfit health-wise, The washroom is such a miserable thing that animals would not like to use it. The bed was very poor with springs already used up and making noise from springs every time you take a turn. For checking in their staff was very poor, they were putting already booked customers to wait in queue and trying to sign up new customers which meant that my party and I had to wait 35 Minutes in the queue. I paid $ 163 at the time of booking but when I went to check in they took another $ 10 for parking and took another $ 50 for security to be returned later. when questioned about this security the front desk told that they want make sure we don't break anything. The check-in period said that we are not allowed to check-in before 4.00 P.M. They had three different motels but their checking was at one motel which meant that in rush time one park with difficulty in the motel where there is front desk but customers are told that they have to go to the other motel, and then the customer has to take whole his stuff out like suit case etc and go to parked car and then go to the other motel. I was offered room no 16 but when I went there I was supposed to get two queen beds but only got one queen bed, with the second being only a single. With my party of 4, this meant that 2 of us had to sleep on a bed that was too small and this was completely unreasonable.
The room key did not work with the room lock, as the entire mechanism was faulty. I complained and some staff member came up to fix the lock but was unsuccessful.
There was one (1) bathroom towel in the entire room, and there was no sink in the bathroom, only a toilet and a tub. The sink was in the room, outside the bathroom.
The bed sheets were terrible, and I felt disgusted to have to sleep in...
Read moreThe only positive aspect of this motel is its proximity to Clifton Hill. My friend and I booked a room for two nights (for reference, I checked in about 9:20 p.m). Upon arrival, we noticed that half of the rooms were boarded up for reasons unknown, which was unsettling. There was also a step on one of the staircases that was a tripping hazard as it tilted downward.
When we entered our room, I immediately felt unsafe because there was no secondary lock on the door. While inspecting the room, I was shocked to find empty water bottles inside one of the compartments of the TV stand (attached is the photo and the time I found it at). I have no idea how long they had been there, but it clearly indicated a lack of attention to cleanliness.
The motel claims that the rooms are soundproof, but we could often hear people screaming outside. And, I'm not talking about laughing and screaming, I'm talking about genuine screaming, which further added to the discomfort of our stay.
On top of that, despite booking the room for two nights, at 12:00 p.m. the next day, a woman banged on our door, insisting that check-out was at 11:00 a.m. I informed her that we were staying another night. She said she would check but never returned to apologize for the inconvenience or for knocking so aggressively on a door with only one lock.
The rooms themselves look nothing like the photos—they're dark and dingy, lit only by a couple of lamps (if you're lucky enough to get more than one). I wouldn't return unless every other option in the area was fully booked, and don't care for customer service and cleanliness. Be aware that they charge $30 per extra person, even if the room has two beds, and you’ll be expected to pay for parking, with the manager often coming out to demand payment if you...
