Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Period. We booked through Priceline (which we always use for all our trips, this hotel had a 8/10 which was pretty impressive)...we literally almost didn't even bother checking in once we got there; the man who checked us in spoke maybe no English? He was having me write information on scraps of paper, it seemed like nothing there was computerized, to be honest other than the fact that he gave us a key, we had no idea what was happening. As soon as we stepped into the hallway and saw how disgusting the carpet was I told our daughter to not dare walk around barefoot in the room. Then, to my utter disgust, the carpet in the room was way way worse. If I would have had a younger child who would have been on the floor, we would have been out of there that instant. We went out to dinner and came back and there were all these men hanging around this back door, which also happened to be right outside our room. And from their smoking, right outside our entire room was like a smokey bar. Everything reeked. Now I had seen in reviews about it being noisy and the walls being thin, eh, I can live with hearing people talk, etc. But the thing is, it was like a party all around. Like for most of the first night. Doors slamming constantly, people yelling..at one point I woke up to what sounded maybe like someone in charge kicking some people out maybe? But it still was just as loud a little while later. Also, there is no staff there from like midnight til noon, so that's incredibly not helpful; they have a phone number taped to a door that's locked which would normally open into the lobby. This was totally mind-blowing as check out is at 11 AM (or 10, I can't recall) and there was no one there at all when we were leaving. We called the number and no one answered. Another man came along and said they just always slide the key under the door, which is what he did, so that's what we did. I mean other than being not far from the falls, there was nothing good I could even pretend to say. The bathroom was so mildew/moldy and just yucky feeling; actually the whole building felt that way. Places can be old and still be taken care of; this was just like an old run down place that no one takes care of. I am so confused by the positive reviews. (The pictures they show when you look have to be at least 10 years old if not older. I wish I would have taken pictures of...
Read moreBy far the worst place we have ever stayed in. found one big cockroach in bathroom. bed number 1: the headboard was not attached to the wall. bed number 2: the mattress was not even / flat. One side was significantly higher than the other. the phone was totally non-functional. I think maybe it was a decoration and piece of plastic because I tried everything and could not get a dial tone or any sounds to emit or any buttons to function. door-stopper was broken and its screw just casually on the ground for anyone to step on or kids to eat. lights in bathroom kept flickering. Of the 3 bulbs on the fixture, 1 was not working, one was flickering, and one was working. manager and staff questioned why we wanted a third towel to share just for the next day (wife was asking for a fourth towel since we r two people but i tried to find a balance of 3 total towels for the 2 days). They allowed us to have 4 towels. they charged me 15$ extra to have wife there.. when I signed up I did put 1 adult because i didn't think it matters if I have a plus one. These guys charge for any additional person so we made sure our friends stayed in their local homes and not visit us at the hotel even for 5 minutes.
To fix above issues, they sent someone. He glued the headboard for bed number 1 on the wall behind bed. We avoided sleeping on there incase it comes off and hits us on the face. I then helped him fix bed number 2 by holding up the mattress while he adjusted the frame and rail. He said to use our cellphones since phone doesnt work. He did not fix the lights.
When i called to speak to manager about this, she said that her notes say the phone was working so i told her i have video and pictures of everything i just mentioned. She said she needs to talk to staff and then I should call her back. I called her 5 times that day every hour and she actually ignored every call... the calls were 5-10 minutes of waiting for her to pick...
Read moreI hate to leave a negative review but since my complaint was completely ignored, I figure this might get someone's attention.
I visited this motel for the first time early January, and actually it's the nicest most modern motel I've seen in quite some time. I immediately felt that I'd be a repeat customer. The issue was that I accidentally left an article of clothing behind. 3 days later I realized it was not in my wardrobe, and recalling that the last time I saw it was in the room, I called to inquire if it had been found.
They confirmed that it was found, but that it was thrown out the day prior, as nobody had claimed it. That particular item was a STAPLE that I have not been able to replace; it was on clearance and it fit me SO well. I was so disappointed and frustrated that they decided to toss something so quickly. Any place that is run properly, keeps items in a lost and found for a MINIMUM of a week, but 2 days?!?!?! Absolutely ridiculous.
I emailed my concerns to the property, hoping to reach management, and my email was ignored. I was suggesting that they should seriously consider retraining their staff to hold onto things for longer. Weeks later I am still so upset that I was unable to recoup my clothing, and despite enjoying the room itself, I'll never give them more business because of this incident.
Please if you stay here, double and triple check everything before leaving, because these people ain't keepin it...
