Update 2/4/21
Decided to give it another shot, service was impeccable!!!! The gentleman was very polite and helpful, thank you for that. We ordered a few dishes: paneer tikka, aaloo gobhi, mixed vegetable jalfrazi, lamb curry, butter chicken, veggie biryani, garlic naans, etc..... was not up to par at all but called to speak to the gentleman about it in further detail and he heard us out so thank you again for that also. Takes a certain discipline to take a call like that. Changing the 1 star to 3 for that service only but quality of food was far from what we expected.
Previous review
Went for dinner last Friday, there were 5 of us. Service was extremely slow. Portions are way too small. Not worth the money at all. We each got a different curry which cost $17-$18 each. I ordered shrimp curry and it was good but there was nothing special about it. Each curry comes with rice, naan, salad, and papadum. We ordered garlic naan for an extra charge and you would think they would be generous with rice at the least and shockingly wasn't. I was referred to this restaurant from their sister restaurant, Guru on Victoria Street to which we are regulars and this is why I went... I expected way more but the experience was terrible so I hate to say it but we will likely never go back again. Icing on the cake was that their system was down where the owner had to manually write receipts which took quite some time. We totally understand there would be a longer wait due to the systems being down and we rate the fact that he eventually let us know what was going on but the fact that almost all of their staff and management were behind the counter, only one of the management team, this gentleman, was doing all the work - it was sad to see he gained no help in this very unfortunate situation where practically the entire restaurant was waiting for the bill... AND the server tried hustling me for my money by including a 16-17% tip when taking my payment. Had he not done that, I would have left a 10% tip solely because the little food we had was not terrible but because of his dumb move, I left nothing. Also, our bills were wrong but we allowed it as we were empathetic towards the fact the restaurant was in a hectic situation and we had people part of our party who were late for their movie due to this. We are industry people as well and very familiar with managing a restaurant - I would suggest next time offering a mango lassi or drink or something as complementary to put at ease all the customers... instead of commotion from a lady shouting "leave my brother alone, he has to write all of these reciepts out"... That was bad for business as I will probably always remember that moment if anyone asks if I've been to Moksha - I cannot control that it's the first thing that comes to my mind. She probably should have worded it differently and kept her tone of voice lower than she did... no offence but it sounded rude. For the price I paid for two curry meals being $50+, I could have fed 3-4 people at Guru and had left overs. As for the venue, it's definitely a nice spot and I liked the servers uniforms. So much potential at this spot for sure... I truly do wish you the best for...

Where do Start, soon as we walked we went to use the bathroom, filthy. Should of known from the bathroom it would be down hill. No pride in cleanliness. We made reservations but they said just sit here, again no care for business.
When ordering ourfood we mentioned our dietary restrictions and made those clear from the get go. Some of us were vegan, kids no spice of course under 9 and 6 as well acid reflux for elderly parent so no spice.
When we sat down there were no utensils. I asked for them and the waiter gave me a napkin full our spoons and forks as I now started a part time job working there and pass them out.
They gave us water glasses but didn't bring the water out until 5 mins later and again left the bottle out for us to pour it in our selfs. I made a comment to should I fill the glasses or you going to? He got he message and walked away.
When we ordered the food it came out in bits and pieces. We ordered roti they gave us naan.we sent it back. All the curry dishes were out and now getting cold so we just sat there looking at each other on how long it would take, 15 to 20 mins later they got the rotis out by time food was cold and half of lost our appetite waiting. No apologies or Management coming out and appolige and offering to do something for the inconvenience.
We ordered the food medium spicy and came out super spicy, we ordered other breads they didn't come out until everyone else was done eating.
What made this place over the top embarrassment no sympathy on the multiple mistakes what so ever.
I was ready to walk out with out paying. Why should anyone accept this type service and think it is ok. Eating old food a d this this is normal. You would think the manager would have come out said we sorry but it lead to a point to calling the police. Rather than accept the multiple faults and mismanagement or staff and waitress he said I would pay this bill if it was me. Clearly all he care about is money and not service.
The lack of pride, ownership and acceptance of fault amazes me.
The food business is about service and quality.
This is why people eat at McDonald's at least they know what they are getting.
PS.. Other sat down and heard us having this conversation with manger and walked out which mad me feel good and I pointed that out see your already loosing business she didn't care. Guess you have to be non Indian to get some sort of service. Don't go ever.. Safe your money. I left out more of there faults but I assume anyone who reads this...
Read moreA Disastrous Dining Experience: Terrible Service and Tasteless Food
Review: (should be 0 stars)
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Moksha Bistro, and I must say it was nothing short of a disaster. From the moment I walked through the door, it became painfully apparent that this establishment had little regard for providing a pleasant dining experience. Allow me to elaborate on the multitude of issues I encountered during my visit.
Let's start with the service, or rather, the lack thereof. The staff at Moksha Bistro seemed completely disinterested in their jobs, displaying a complete disregard for basic courtesy. It took an eternity just to be acknowledged, and even longer for our orders to be taken. Our server was unresponsive, seemingly annoyed by our presence, and displayed no knowledge of the menu when asked for recommendations. Empty promises of quick service were made but never fulfilled, leaving us frustrated and hungry.
As if the service wasn't bad enough, the quality of the food was shockingly abysmal. Every dish we ordered was a disappointment, lacking any semblance of flavor or culinary skill. It was evident that the ingredients were of low quality and poorly prepared. The main courses were bland and uninspiring as well as pocket-sized and expensive. It seemed as if the chef had given up on creating anything remotely appetizing. To top it all off, the presentation was unappealing, with sloppy plating and lackluster garnishes.
To make matters worse, when we attempted to bring our concerns to the attention of the management, we were met with indifference and even defensiveness. Instead of acknowledging their mistakes and attempting to rectify the situation, they brushed off our complaints and showed no willingness to make amends. It was disheartening to see such a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction.
In summary, my experience at Moksha Bistro was an absolute nightmare. The combination of abysmal service and tasteless food left a sour taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. I would strongly advise anyone considering dining at this establishment to steer clear and find a more deserving restaurant that values...
