This was our first stay at Blairpen, and is now definitely our go to place.
We came for 3 days mainly to see plays and really appreciated that it was only a 6-minute walk to the Shaw Festival Theatre and all the great restaurants in the downtown area, especially as mobility is a concern.
Tim, the owner and resident gardener is a great host and lively raconteur who knows a great deal about the town's past and present. The house was previously used for his father's medical practice.
His daughter, Caitlin, is the chief administrator and baker -- and she's very professional at both. She will take care of your every need within minutes of receiving your email. She also provides a buffet breakfast with delicious baked goods, fresh homemade bread, yoghurt and fresh fruit, etc. Get there early, you don't want to miss her strawberry scones.
Incredible hospitality, comfortable room and bed in a house filled with beautiful period furnishings. Every room is tastefully decorated along with modern conveniences.
You can explore the common rooms on the first floor that contain interesting artwork and photos. Outside in the back of the property is a secret garden with a Tea House where you can enjoy the surroundings especially if it's raining.
If you're coming during the warmer months, enjoy the fragrance coming from the beautiful gardens in the neighbourhood. It's heavenly walking through the...

A friendly young woman whose name may be Doreen who may be the inn keeper also made us immediately feel at home despite our early arrival. She promptly gave us a tour which, among other some other rooms, included a charming library type room and a wonderful , leafy garden which she referred to as “the secret garden.”|She did a superb job organizing and preparing a tasty and plentiful buffet style breakfast each day.|The location proved to be easily walkable toThe Festival and Studio Theaters as well as to restaurants and those tempting shops lining the main drag.|I would not hesitate to return. I realize hard vs soft is a preference. I wasn’t thrilled about the firmness but I was able to sleep. Unfortunately, my partner slept poorly both nights because of...
