We stayed about a week in this location, as we had to delay our arrival for our dates on the W Circuit in Torres del Paine National Park. This location is a short walk to the bus terminal, several playgrounds, an ice cream shop, several restaurants and an amphitheater. This was an ‘out of downtown’ but central to most things location, which was good for us as a traveling family. On a longer walk you can explore the rest of the city. If you need any local tours, they can be arranged in the reception, including a free city tour. On location there is a restaurant and laundry, which is super convenient and reasonably priced. They have a brand new sign! Bag storage is available of you have a bookends stay around trekking in the national park. Staff were excellent and accommodating of our child, to the extent of treating him occasionally with simple things, and letting him practice his Spanish. This is much appreciated as a traveling family where you aren’t often in a place long enough for it to feel homey. Here, we were. Most visitors while we were there stayed a few days, and this is reflective of the town itself which seems to have a transient tourist population on their way to or from the iconic national park. Overall, this is an easy place to recommend as we had a good time in the area, an enjoyable stay, and it was within our limited budget. One other thing: It’s windy most of the time in this part of the world, but beautiful all of the time.

Booked nice room, got ugly spare! This bad experience started with a 15% Genius discount from booking.com. We were put in a tiny room which was not on the pictures. After asking why, they explained this was because of the discount. Later, he revised: “It is the only free room.” So the booked view turned out to be a brick wall and a tiny patio. After insisting, eventually we got a “better” room for the last night, while the old lady (presumably the owner) gave us the stink eye. The new room wasn’t on the pictures either and they switched off the heating, so we spent a really cold last night. Also the free breakfast was a big disappointment. Ham and cheese were limited to one slice per guest. The rest was low quality or old. It was, however, possible to buy freshly baked goods in their own bakery. Here a good experience will cost you lots of money.

This place was underwhelming. It is convenient if you are using the bus station, but I would consider elsewhere. The rooms are big enough, but there are shortcomings: the main issue is the level of noise. The walls are very thin and let a lot of noise through. Not very good if you are trying to sleep. The bed and pillow were uncomfortable and I'm not the kind of person who cares too much about that. But when your feet are dangling off the end of the bed because it is too short and both the bed and pillow are super hard, then I care. I guess I would not mind as much if this place was cheaper. As it was, it was a bad value. The breakfast was adequate, but nothing special. I did like the coffee and the eggs, but everything else I would skip.
