My wife and I spend 2 nights during our short visit to Vina del Mar. We were on purpose looking for a cheap place to stay, as we didn't want to pay 150-300 USD for a hotel room in front of the beaches. So of course we didn't expect too much, but even though we were not positive surprised.||||Hotel: It is on the 2. floor in the building, all though with an easy access from the street. If you are travelling by car, the hotel has an agreement with a parking lot near by where your car is secure during the night for free. You have to pay during the day ! We asked to see the rooms before deciding and that was no problem.||||The owners of the hotel are Chinese, and no less than 3 chinese and 1 chilean, were taking care of the check-in, which lead to more mess than structure ! We succeded - and got our keys. ||||Rooms: Big and old fashioned. Nice big bed and a tv. The bathroom was sufficient and there was hot water. The smell was a bit "old" in the whole hotel, but not too disturbing.||||Sleeping quality in room 125 was: Good - but there are a disco or something like that nearby which can be heard. But it was more disturbing in room 124, where our frinds stayed.||||Breakfast: VERY VERY POOR !! Besides coffee, instant, and the - only some poor bread and a few pieces of ham on a plate on the "buffet"...!! We were told upfront that it was almost like a continental breakfast...but NOT EVEN CLOSE. Don't expect anything for breakfast...||||Conclusion: An ok place to sleep, in a ok part of the city with the beaches nearby if you find 5-10 min. walk ok. We actually went to a hostel as an alternative before check-in, but as it was even more expensive than this "place" then we decided that it was ok as we only use the room to sleep. Can be recommended for the budget traveller with low...
Read moreThis hotel is located in a popular eating district, it can be noisy during the day, but as a traveller that don't stay indoors all day it didn't bother me just that the noise starts somewhat early in the morning. At the time I stayed there was road works that made noise more a problem. The staff are friendly and they provide a simple breakfast for guests, that is ok to start the morning with. Its close to the metro if you want to ex[plore Valparaiso and a short walk to the Casino that leads to a nice walk next to the beach ( about 10 mins to the casino) The Bus terminal from Santiago is also close by and its not far to walk, about 1 k (about a 10...
Read moreThe hotel is centrally located and this is the only positive. You pay upfront at the consierge and you expect the room to have at least the bare minimum but when you walk into the room you you realise is not meeting the minimum hygiene standards. The next morning I found out that the toilet was not even flushing and that the shower was broken. The breakfast is poor to the point that I preferred to leave straight away and have breakfast somewhere decent. Avoid this place folks, you can get better for...
