The food was fine but the service and policies suck big time.

When the waitress came to take my order, she asked what I wanted for drinks and I said that I didn’t want any. She said, that they were anyways going to charge for drinks whether I order it or not (yes, she said that nearly word to word). I get having a minimum order requirement but wtf kind of policy is it to force people to order a drink? I suspect it is not the restaurants policy but the waitress forced me to order tea. The waitress also wasn't hospitable (and yes, I'm aware of HK service trends) - one older gentleman was good though.

Anyways, I gave them the benefit of doubt and ordered a Tieguanyin tea - it turned out to be the be the worst Tieguanyin I've ever had. It had absolutely no flavor despite 10+ minutes of brewing in boiling water. It just released color so basically it was colored tea without any flavor. I'm quite familiar with Chinese teas and have had many Tieguanyin.

Proceeding, I ordered vegetarian char siu. It was $99 for a medium portion without any accompanying rice, which were another $16 for a very small portion, there is a 10% service charge...so in effect, $126 just for having a medium portion of char siu with small portion of rice.

Overall, I ended up paying $143 for some shitty tea, and char siu.

As for the char siu itself - it was quite good. Juicy and with a good texture - but the 'char', though very visible, didn't pack as much flavor as it should. I cannot comment how close it is to a actual char siu because I've been a vegetarian since birth.

I might return to try their set lunch menu (because the char siu was good so the food seems fine) but will never come back for dinner as it is...

Dining at Liza Veggies was truly delightful experience. From the kind and welcoming owner to the affordable and delicious food, this place exceeded my expectations in every way.

One of the standout features of Liza Veggies is their fantastic lunch deal. For just $60, you can enjoy a three-item combo that comes with a generous serving of unlimited rice and soup. This offer provides excellent value for money, making it an affordable option for those looking for a hearty and satisfying meal.

The menu at Liza Veggies is diverse and offers a variety of delicious vegetarian options. The menu changes daily. Most items are vegan friendly. Their meals are Buddhist-friendly and free of allium. Everyone can enjoy a flavorful and fulfilling meal without any concerns.

During lunchtime, Liza Veggies can get quite busy, which is a testament to their popularity. Despite the crowd, the staff remained efficient, ensuring that everyone received their meals in a timely manner. The bustling atmosphere added to the overall charm of the place, creating a lively and inviting ambiance.

Liza Veggies is a great place for anyone looking for a delightful vegetarian meal. The kind staff, coupled with the affordable and delicious three-item combo with unlimited rice and soup, makes this restaurant a true gem. Whether you follow a vegetarian lifestyle or simply enjoy flavorful and wholesome meals, Liza Veggies will not disappoint. Just remember to visit early or be prepared for a busy...

This is a hidden gem in Wanchai. The restaurant is quite hidden but you can reach it with Google Maps. The place is spacious and not that busy on weekday nights. The menu offers a lot of options from steamed food to deep-fried food, all vegetarian.

We were curious about how they made lamb out of soy fibre, so we ordered the clay pot lamb bites. The texture of the soy lamb felt like meat and the selection of refreshing veggies in the pot complemented the stronger taste of the soy lamb bites well. The molten lava dumplings were also a surprisingly tasty dish. The fillings were tomatoes and potatoes that flowed like lava as you bit in. My personal favorite was the Kyoto Beef Roll Rice Cake. Although I don't quite know where the name Kyoto comes from (maybe the Japanese sauce?), the soy beef slices were very crispy. With the sweet sauce on top and the chewy rice cake that it wrapped around, this dish made for a nice snack.

Go try this out and see if you like...

my second visit to this place. it's a vege shop, very reasonably priced and lots to choose from the dinner menu. food came quite fast. the fried food were freshly made to order, very crispy and tasty. the eggplant pot was extremely hot but wasn't as spicy as we expected, so it's good for kids to eat too. we should have ordered some rice to go with it. finally the sweet soup was definitely amazing. it's walnut sweet soup, very traditional hong kong style. the walnut was lightly grilled and gave a very special nutty scent, it made the whole sweet soup with more layer and flavourful. we love it so much. other savouries were a bit sweet we reckon.
