This is an interesting historic property on Rua das Estalagens. It was built in 1982 as a typical shophouse and included a pharmacy established by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, who was based in Macau and practiced here 1893-94. This heritage attraction is open from 10am to 6pm daily (closed on Tuesdays). Entry is free.
The Former Chong Sai Pharmacy is of typical late 19th-century architecture. The building was in a dilapidated state when purchased by the Macau government in 2011. It was restored over a 5 year period and reopened to the public in 2016.
Now you can explore three floors of the former shophouse, viewing exposed ruins on the ground floor, recovered ceramics and pottery fragments and three floors of nicely restored rooms.
