Nico ApartaSuites - Hotel — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

I cannot say enough good things about my month long stay at Nico for business. It is nestled in a safe and walkable neighborhood called Chapinero, which had so many great restaurants and shops to walk to (recommend Bacu, Vitto, Olivetto, Artisanal Crepes & Waffles, and Elektra to name a few) . There was a grocery store, pharmacy, and coffee shops all nearby as well which was super convenient as well as a small store called Tienda D1 for almost all your needs be it food, water, snacks, some toiletries, laundry detergent, and small selection of frozen foods. The hotel has a business center that catered to all my needs for quiet work, video calls, printer, and white boards.||The staff was very attentive, nice and welcoming. This is a very secure building so people need to be buzzed in/out and there is always someone at the front desk at all hours. The cleaning staff was very polite and did a great job tending to the room every day. Breakfast was also nice to have every morning and the staff will make you eggs any which way and the selection varies day to day. ||My room was towards the back of the hotel and it's a busy city so there are some street noises that creep in, but I did have a white noise app that drowned it out. Bed was comfy and I had a kitchenette which had everything I needed to prepare my meals. If you are missing anything ask the front desk, they will likely have it. I asked for an iron, hair dryer HDMI cable and were all provided for me immediately.||Bottom line, you can't beat the price and location of this hotel and I will be returning to stay here when I return for vacation. Stayed at this hotel for a week as a couple. Location cannot be beat. Close to everything you’d want to be near. Nicely located in the gastro district, so if you love to eat, there are more restaurants than you can count in the area! ||Check in was easy. They give you one of those old-school keys - you won’t receive an electric room key, so make sure you don’t lose it! The staff was very friendly helpful, and professional. ||We booked the largest suite and it was very spacious! There a big bed with an equally big bathroom and huge closet. The room was also clean. Please keep in mind that there is NO THERMOSTAT in the room. You cannot control the temperature in the room. I visited in March and the temp after was very cool/mild outside but the room got HOT. It was very uncomfortable and for that reason alone I probably would not return. We opened the windows, which provided some relief but very little. ||Also, there was construction going on during the day and it was LOUD. I was working during the week while there and it was very disruptive during my work meetings. That being said, the WiFi worked great and the room had a desk that was perfect for setting up for work. ||Breakfast downstairs was ok, but nothing to write home about. They have a large kitchen downstairs where guests can use to cook. That was very nice and we used the kitchen. ||Im not sure I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would be sensitive to the construction noise and the fact that the rooms run hot and you can’t control the temperature. Unfortunately for this property, the elevator is not working. This is an old apartment building re done as a hotel. Its nicely decorated and its very well located if you want to be in this area. Unfortunately the staff is poorly prepared and trained. They gave me a room in the 6th floor and the elevator is not working and will not for the duration of my stay of 3 days. I would not recommennd this property to anyone because I feel completely cheated by them. This information should be disclosed before charging me. Of course I can get a refund but I am already here and finding another place in short notice is more expensive and I would need to move again. So instead of 3 days I am staying 1. Stay away from this property unless you absolutely veriffy 100% that they are giving you as advertised on booking and their site. Things can break down and that is understandable, what is not is the lack of good service and communication.
