MASA 70 — Restaurant in Bogota, Capital District

I’ve been to MASA 105 before - loved the concept. The atmosphere, food, and the crowd complement each other and together curate a modern, enjoyable dining experience.

MASA 70 satisfied in terms of atmosphere and food, but the service was lacking far too much. We waited more than enough time and it seemed that the waiter forgot to put in our order for more coffee and dessert. The restaurant seemed understaffed and our waiter was as running around clearly very busy so we didn’t want to intrude, but once we noticed another couple next to us become frustrated and get up to ask for the check, we decided it was time to do the same. I found it peculiar that once we were at the counter paying, the two desserts and coffee we ordered half an hour ago were now being served. We finished our transaction, took dessert to go, and ate during our walk home. It was delicious, though it would’ve been nicer to have enjoyed it at the restaurant with some more coffee.

I would give this location another chance, but next time I’m coming when I have a few more...

The food was delicious! We had the Tostados Francesas which is French Toast but not the kind I'm used to. This was very thick and moist kind of like a less soggy version of bread pudding. Highly recommend. We also had the Breakfast Burger which was really good too if you like egg sandwiches. The only thing I'd say about that is I thought it came with Sriracha from the description, but it tasted more like it had ketchup on it. I knocked it down a star because they forgot part of our order and we reordered it and ended up spending nearly double the time we would have spent here. But mistakes happen, and I'm sure it's not a usually thing - maybe a language barrier. Looks like dogs are allowed on the patio too! But not positive. The door...

I like the bread but can't give a good review for a number of reasons...

Their staff is super rude. Consistently. They have very slow service both at the counter and worse at the restaurant. Most upsettingly however are their QUESTIONABLE HYGIENE STANDARDS!!!! On various occasions I have witnessed extremely bad food safety practices - I saw an employee STANDING in her sneakers on a food prep surface to stock bread. I also saw an unpackaged bread fall onto the floor and they just put it right back. Both times I commented and they were just like "yea, so what?" I also tried to contact Masa directly with a photo and they...
