Forget everything you think you know about steakhouses. La Cabrera in Bogotá is a transcendent dining experience that sets a new gold standard. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere. The interior design is simply beautiful, with a rustic elegance that perfectly complements the Argentinian theme.
But the real star of the show, of course, is the meat. La Cabrera boasts an exceptional selection of cuts, each one showcasing incredible quality. Cooked to perfection, my steak was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. What truly sets La Cabrera apart, however, are the details. Before your steak even arrives, you're treated to an amazing array of six complimentary appetizers, each a delicious miniature masterpiece. And then there are the sauces! Prepare to be amazed by a selection of unique and flavorful accompaniments that will elevate your steak to another level – I discovered flavors I'd never encountered before.
However, even with all the culinary delights, the service at La Cabrera is by far the best I have ever encountered in any restaurant, anywhere. Attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their work, the staff made us feel like royalty. A special shout-out to Neomar, our server, who went above and beyond to ensure our evening was perfect. If you can, request to be seated in his section – you won't regret it!
La Cabrera isn't just a meal; it's an experience. It is easily the best Argentinian steakhouse in Bogotá, and frankly, one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of dining in. Don't miss out! This is a 5/5, must-visit destination for...
Read moreI came to this restaurant after reading excellent reviews, so I’ve arrived with very high expectations.
In fact, although the starters were very good, the main course, the steak, was a bit of disappointing. Full disclosure: I'm Argentinian, so maybe I have high expectations for a good meat. Maybe too high?
The service was excellent and overall, the atmosphere was very pleasant.
Quite soon after I sat down, I was served with their home dishes. Some were nice, some a bit less. The bread was quite dry.
Starters: empanadas it was great. Really big one. Take into account to order half of this portion.
Chincholins It was tasty, but not a hit. I have eaten much better.
Main Course: rib eye steak it was fine. I was a little disappointed.
The restaurant is relatively expensive compared to meat restaurants in Bogotá and although food is good, it is not better than other restaurants.
Not sure I will come back. Maybe yes.. I'll always give...
Read moreVisited 3 Jan 2024 for lunch. We ordered an aged ribeye that cost 533.000 COP (136 USD) after tax and 10% service charge. The ribeye was tiny and even though it was requested medium rare, it came out extremely raw in the middle. I am surprised that a steakhouse can't cook a steak correctly. By the time the steak went back into the kitchen and was returned to us, it was already overcooked.
The only saving grace was our server Favian, who was very friendly and welcoming. The hostess who sat us was unfortunately very distracted by her phone the entire time (sending messages as she was walking us to the table).
The menu was inconsistent, with inaccurate translations and inaccurate prices (for example, the price displayed for a half portion of chinchulines was wrong and I had to catch this error myself).
I think there was no value to the dining experience here and would recommend people try other...
