Huespedia Stay — Hotel in Cartagena

This Huespedia apartment was very nice, but failed to provide certain essentials. The pool was lovely, but a small net would be appreciated to facilitate cleaning when debris falls into it. We ended up purchasing our own paper towels because they were not provided (1 per stay seems reasonable). Although, Colombia is of hotter climate, I have to say I was very disappointed there there was not a proper blanket/quilt to cover ourselves during the night; the bed only had a fitted sheet and the thin sheet on top of that. Additionally, the water in the shower was HORRIBLE and it needs to be serviced; we would turn both the cold and the hot water, it would turn to scalding water, turn the knob slightly, and the water would go ice cold, there was no in between; we had about 20sec before the water turned extremely hot/cold. That is a very uncomfortable way to experience a shower…. And Ultimately, the check-in was so confusing, misleading and absolutely a headache…. The address stated one thing, we arrived for check in at someone’s residence. This person was so confused and shocked to find us trying to enter their home, he called his neighbor who apparently hosts an Airbnb and they state they Already had guests. Finally, the local kindly suggests we are three buildings down; I arrive to the front desk and the front desk man is Rude, stating the addresses must have gotten “crossed.” How Sway? I asked the man if the host did that purposely to confuse and his demeanor was dismissive and that of annoyance. We arrive to the BnB suite where a young lady greets us to give us a tour (word of advice, the guest will ALWAYS take themselves through the room/home.. The only necessary information is how to operate the key(s) and the pool motors. Other than that, there is no need for a tour and you are just taking from our time.) The ONLY takeaway from this Airbnb is how amazing and hospitable the front desk/service/security mister William is. He always had a smile and was always willing to assist and answer questions. He was always available and seemed cheery regardless what time we saw him. Also, the company you keep while staying at this Airbnb is what makes it… Other than that, we hope you take this review as a way to improve. That picture showed the only blanket...

Our family had such a wonderful time in Cartagena and loved our stay at Huespedia. We were so kindly greeted and oriented to the property. I personally loved the beautiful private upstairs terrace where I enjoyed a tranquil place to read, soak up the sun and enjoy my morning coffee. We were surprised and so grateful for the hospitality of the people who not only took care of the property but took such good care of us. Thank you Estella and Rafael! We were in the city for a beautiful wedding and the place was close enough to walk everywhere. We cooled off in the pool each day, went shopping and out to amazing rest Nearby. Always to return to be personally greeted and welcomed back to this home away from home. We felt very safe and appreciated the privacy in this spacious place to share as a family. I hope to visit again one day! Thanks again for taking care of us and providing us a home away...

It was a great experience at this property. The security guard “Raphael” was very nice and available 24 hours. The housekeeper did an amazing job at cleaning the house and was available whenever needed. We did not really use the pool. My only sort of complaint would be that there isn’t an AC in the common sitting area but we went in December and it was not that hot. Overall I would love to come back...
