I recently stayed at this hotel, and while I have to commend the staff for their friendliness and professionalism, the overall experience was incredibly disappointing.
One of the biggest issues was their recent change in policy, which now prohibits guests from visiting. This was not made clear when I booked, and as a result, my partner had to book a separate hotel at the last minute because they wouldn’t allow her to stay. Strangely enough, they allow dogs but not guests—go figure.
On top of that, I wasn’t even allowed to meet my friends in the hotel, as they weren’t permitted in my room. This made socializing a nightmare.
The room itself had several problems. The door used a passcode system, which was constantly broken, making entry a hassle. The toilet had flushing issues, and despite reporting it, nothing was done for three days. Housekeeping also woke me up every day at 9 AM—why so early? Surely, this should be later in the day.
The gym was another letdown. The pictures online make it look spacious, but in reality, it’s tiny. Definitely not what I was expecting.
To top it all off, I requested a refund due to the issue with my partner not being allowed to check in, but the hotel refused.
Overall, apart from the excellent staff, this hotel was a huge disappointment. If you’re looking for a hassle-free stay, I’d recommend...
Read moreWe stayed at Mood Matura in Cartagena for one night, and overall, it was a decent experience with a few highlights and some drawbacks.
The room itself was nice and clean, and we had a king bed that was very comfortable and spacious. The air conditioning worked well, which was a big plus in Cartagena’s heat. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and easy, and we appreciated the fact that they had security present in the lobby during nighttime hours, which added a sense of safety.
That said, the bathroom layout was not very practical. The shower was quite tight, and the water handle was placed behind the glass door, which made turning it on awkward turning on. While it wasn’t a major issue for a short stay, it’s definitely was just a weird concept.
However, the WiFi was extremely poor, and unfortunately, that was a major issue for us. Reliable internet is one of the top things we look for in a stay, especially when traveling internationally and needing to stay connected. It was essentially unusable during our visit.
If you're only staying a short time and don’t rely on WiFi, this could be a solid option thanks to the location, cleanliness, and comfortable bed. But for longer stays or remote work, the internet situation might be...
Read moreI stayed in the hotel for 7 nights. I had a very disappointing stay at Mood Matuna. The main issue was the lack of water—there was no running water for almost two days, making it impossible to shower or use basic facilities. On top of that, the power was out for the same amount of time, leaving the rooms unbearably hot without air conditioning.
At check-in, I was told that breakfast was included, but I was later charged for it, which felt misleading and unprofessional. The lack of privacy was another major issue—windows had to be covered all the time to avoid people looking in.
The building is old, and while the rooms have some minor improvements, they’re still far from comfortable. The location is extremely noisy, and the walls are so thin that you can hear everything happening in the corridor, making it nearly impossible to get any rest.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It fails to meet even the most basic standards for comfort and...
