My wife and I spent 3 wonderful days at this one month old hotel. In Guatape you may find all kinds of hotels and prices, so there is at least one for every one. Benjamar is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive one, but it leans more towards the expensive side. However, we felt it was worth every penny, and we would gladly go back if we have a chance. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but it is surrounded by a million of them, and when you stay there, breakfast is included. You may take it in your room or walk a short distance and eat it at the restaurant that provides it. The breakfast is very good but does not offer many choices, and it does not include any kind of fruit which I hope changes in the near future. There are different kinds of brand-new rooms and prices, so you are very likely to find one you like. Isaac and his staff are very helpful and will gladly help you with anything you need. Be prepared to walk on stairs because it is a 5 story building without elevator, and the lobby is on the second floor. We loved our stay there and recommend booking it...
Read moreWe travel a lot and this place we can not recommend it.||||Pros and Cons:||Clean||newer building||||Cons:||It is located right on the main street along the waterfront||Tons of vendors across the street||Bus's and trucks going by all day and part of the night||Very noisy until 11 pm and 5 am. You need ear plugs||Fair quality of bed and bad quality of pillows||Overpriced: paid $64 a nite. Not worth more than $25!||Skimpy bath towels||Had to ask for bath vanity hot water to be turned on. Mgr said they have to shut the valve for some strange reason.||While we were out for dinner and returned someone entered our room and shut the valve off again.||Was told breakfast after 8 am down the street at some restaurant.||Ready at 8 am the next morning and they said the restaurant will not open till 9 am.||We had a 9;30 bus back to Medellin. So we had no time.||||Save yourself money and peace and quiet and do not stay on this waterfront street. Stay closer to the square or Hotel...
Read moreGreat value for money! Everything in the room was new, clean and we had everything for comfortable 2 nights stay! This hotel has great location - in front of the lake and just nearby restaurants and shops. The owner is really nice and helpful with all informations and boat tour arrangement. He speaks very good English. Internet was fine, breakfast ok. We had the room with the lake room which has very nice view but you can hear the noise from the street. Definitely recommend to stay here for 1-2 nights to discover beauty of Guatape and the area...
