My husband and I visited Medellin for our first time this past week. The entrance was very nice and decorated for Christmas. The staff was very accommodating upon checkin. We received a gift card to use within the hotel for food and drinks. We went down and ate dinner at the restaurant by the pool. It took quite a while to ever get my first drink but after that the food, drinks, and service went well. When it came time to pay our waiter didn't know how to process the payment and had to get assistance. He did ask did we want to include the tip and my husband said yes. We paid and left without realizing he didn't receive a tip. The next evening we went back for dinner and the first thing this man said when he walked up to our table was "Amigo, you didn't leave a tip last night." It was somewhat awkward after that so we decided to eat elsewhere. Next issue was the guest policy, I haven't been able to find it on their website but if anyone visits you, you have to register them and pay an additional fee. They are remodeling the rooms as they are very outdated and worn. I would recommend not booking a room unless you are sure it's been redone. Our carpet was dirty, the light on the vanity didn't work, loose toilet seat, and faucets. The couch in our room had no softness left in it. It was like sitting on wood. The towels are huge and luxurious and the bed is really comfortable. A roach came out from under the baseboard and went back before I could kill it. They are remodeling though so bugs will be on the move. We tried sleeping in but hammering all day prevented too much of that. Washcloths are not something standard in the bathroom so you need to ask. The breakfast buffet has a very large selection of a variety of foods. The best thing to me was the free coffee in the lobby. Whoever makes that...

Read moreThe worst and most disrespectful staying I have had, small rooms and there are ants in the room. The management staff and especially a girl named Valentina lied to me several times that the rooms ran out of availability or there was no more normal room. She also shamelessly asked me to clean the room myself to move me to another room because there were ants in it and it was too small even though I paid for a regular room. It was the most despicable feeling. They kicked me off half an hour before check-out without letting me know beforehand even though there were rooms available. The also tried to charge me for extra person even i paid for 2. Dont go there, they dont worth you...
