We stayed 6 nights at this lovely hostel. Location is really great and everything in the historic part of Santa Marta is within walking distance. The hostel has four rooms. We stayed in the one with private bath which was really nice. The decor is colonial style and fits very well with the old house. Also, there is a nice roof terrace with hammocks.|The breakfast is decent with coffee, fruit, eggs, juice and bread. The kitchen is well equipped and can be used for cooking.|The staff is extremely helpful and nice. During the day Hanania is in charge and handles everything in the house, also booking tours and transport. She is so nice and likes to talk and practice her english. She will do her outmost to make it a pleasent stay. During the night Deimer is in charge. He is a young guy who is very good in english and like Hanania extremely helpful and kind. We had many nice talks about life in Columbia - it was a real pleasure to get to know them.|We only had one bad thing which was out of control for the hostel. There were two nights without electricity making it impossible to sleep there due to the lack of AC. But even then, Hanania and Deimer arranged accomodation in other hotels/hostels for the same rate or cheaper.|All in all a great experience that gave us an unforgettable stay in Santa Marta. A big hug and thank you to Hanania and Deimer, we would definetely stay...
Read moreStayed here for a night on two separate occasions. Stayed in the twin room and private with ensuite, both of which were comfortable, cosy and clean. The rooms have high ceilings and air-conditioning and decorated in a beautiful 1940's decor. Bathrooms both clean, with the shower being not freezing which was nice!||The sitting room downstairs is comfortable and the balcony at the top with chairs to hang by is great. Open air but under cover. The hostel only has minimal rooms so the place was quiet, which was what we wanted.||The staff, Deimer and Alfred, were both super friendly, helpful and spoke great English. The breakfast cooked/ provided was also delicious (fresh fruit and eggs).||The place was easy to find and in a good location, only a couple blocks from the supermarket, main tourist square and beaches. The bus station onwards to Minca, tayrona or palomino is about a 5-10 minute walk. ||Although Santa Marta wasn't very nice, this was a little haven within it. Great place and excellent value! ||Would recommend to everyone who needs a quiet place within the chaos of...
Read moreI couldn't recommend this hotel more. We stayed here for one night initially, the staff were so lovely and welcoming, the rooms are old fashioned but clean with high ceilings and a luxury feel and have nice private bathrooms, the wifi is great, the air con is great in each room and it feels like a boutique hotel at a reasonable price. We then set off to explore Tayrona etc and asked the staff if we could leave our big rucksacks at the hotel (recommended if you are travelling to Tayrona, Palomino, Minca etc as you'll be doing A LOT of walking and will only need a little day bag) Anyway, they let us keep our rucksacks at the hotel for a very long time. When we got back, they were so friendly and we stayed for another two nights. We hadn't had much sleep so they went out of their way to provide a later breakfast for us so we could sleep in. Their laundry service is great. The owner is super friendly and the lady who works there every day is AMAZING. We would definitely stay here again. Also they have a lovely...
