Went there again and the service once again was bad. My bill was $54,000 and I gave them $70,000. I was given all change in coins...i mean seriously it was just a ton of coins (what kind of establishment gives $16k in coins?) and when the friend I was with counted it, she said it was only about 5k in coins.....I feel like I got cheated out of some money but wasn't worth going in there and haggling because the waiter who gave the change (the one who speaks English sorta) would have probably made me wait 1 hour to fix things and I didn't want to bother. Terrible service once again.

p.s. The first time I went there, I asked for water about 4 times as I was ordering espresso's and desperately needed some water....I finally got the water about 1 hour later in a big jug and just as I was ready to ask for the bill. I honestly thought about just going across the street to the tienda to get some water.

Skip this place and go to Juan Valdez or anywhere else.

Original review:

So I went there once and ordered something on Uber Eats once. This is for the Uber Eats order. I asked specifically for some utensils, I was given nothing. No napkin, no fork, no knife etc. I was disappointed because I specifically asked for it in spanish in the Uber eats notes. The food (an omelette) was also surprisingly sort of cold and the mushrooms did not taste fresh. The bread was good. In addition, I visited in person yesterday and it took about 20 minutes to get a menu. Then to get any other service after the initial, it was pretty brutal. The staff is overworked for the amount of people I guess. It felt like a chore trying to flag the waiter down as he was running back and forth (literally running). I will try it one more time and...

Two stars because their Cold Brew and Iced Lemonilla and Jengibre te was good. Otherwise I would’ve given them 1 star.

Service is slow and they take their timeeeeeeee. The first time I came here was at 8am right before my lost city trek and I was the second customer. Over the span of 8 minutes, 3 other people came in and got their drinks before I did. I had to walk upto the counter and ask where my mokkaccino was?! And it was sitting on the counter waiting for the milk to be added.

Second time I came here, was when I got back from my lost city trek. Got the same mokkaccino (which was decent)... later in the day came back and got an iced tea.

Technically 4th time now, a few days later after I spent a couple days in Tayrona. I ordered yet another mokkaccino. Now imagine this, imagine taking a sip of your coffee and you get a mouthful of crushed coffee beans. I almost choked with the amount of chocolate nibs there were and also, totally unexpected. Keep in mind this was my 3rd time here. I asked the waitress if they could remake it because i think something went wrong?.... they remade it, and it was just as chunky... so I changed it to something safe. a cold brew.

my last morning of Santa Marta I came back here to give the mokkaccino another chance. I asked them about it and they said it’s chunked because they changed the recipe. Again, service was bleh (keep in mind I was the first customer that morning). So I decided to leave and bring business to a place that would make a good mokkaccino.

Bottom line. Slow service and Don’t get...

Ikaro is one of the best places we went to in Colombia. We stayed in Santa Marta for a week, and we went to Ikaro 3 or 4 times

It doesn't matter if you think you need meat in your meal - everything they make here is delicious, and none of it has meat, and half of it is vegan.

Their coffee is excellent, and their Mr Chocococo drink is EXCELLENT. I had it on 3 separate occasions. It's also vegan - I generally feel that vegan food is either somewhat bland, or missing the mark. 2 out of the 3 times it was the best drink I've ever had in a restaurant. The second time I ordered it the preparation slightly missed the mark, but the last time I ordered it someone was heavy handed with both the chocolate and the banana, and it was even better than the first time

The Cold Chocochuma is also great, and I think I had a Mango Lassie which was also really really good.

The food is delicious - it doesn't seem to matter what you order. I had Thai Soup on one occasion which had a perfect balance of chili and flavour, and the Dragon Burger on another occasion which was incredible. The Phad Thai is super good, too

DO NOT MISS THE MR CHOCOCOCO

Santa Marta is as hot as hell in June, and probably the rest of the time, too. Ikaro is cool inside, but the mosquitoes will come in looking for those who seek refuge, and they...

Best vegan/vegetarian spot in Santa Marta! If you love a bohemian / hippie style cafe that used fresh, natural, intentional ingredients to make vibrant and flavorful meals this will be your favorite place too! They have fresh coffees, matcha, teas, juices, and smoothies (as well as a selection of wines). For breakfast, I highly recommend their shakshuka (be aware breakfast is only until 11:30am). They also have a lunch and dinner menu. In addition they have pastries, fresh nut butters, bread, and desserts. The staff here is extremely nice, and don’t be frightened by their friendly black pup who comes up to you looking for some scratches (and maybe a snack). Prices here are pretty decent because meals are filling and made with plant-based ingredients. I thoroughly enjoyed their Vietnamese Rolls that were robust with flavor even though it was just veggies. And their Pad Thai is also reallyyy good! Overall highly recommend for the food and the vibes. Feel free to come here to get some work done on your laptop or check out their community board for local events, yoga classes, and more. Love this place! I tried their cappuccino with macadamia milk and it was great coffee but the macadamia milk was a bit bitter however a little bit of sugar helped with that.

Had high expectations after seeing that they source local/organic ingredients. The space is delightful and laid back, but the food disappointed big time. My wife and I shared the Thai soup to start which was bland. I got the red curry over rice and it ended up being the same bland and watered down curry with different veggies (which didn't seem very fresh and was not red curry). Even the rice was awful, somehow both mushy but undercooked. Afterward, I felt incredibly bloated and a bit ill, which fresh vegetarian food should not do. My wife got the Vietnamese fresh rolls which were missing about half the ingredients listed on the menu. When she commented about this the kitchen responded saying they were in there but just very small, so my wife opened one up to show the waiter. He agreed and they remade the rolls with everything (though they were still out of one of the the sauces it was supposed to come with). At least the service was good...maybe we'll try their breakfast instead since they bake their own breads.

This is a must place for people that are vegan. The restaurant has many options from breakfast to dinner. I came here three times in the past 4 days. the first time I tried their brownie (they didn’t have ice cream both times I came) it was delicious. I tried their Tom Ka Gai and it was a good sour taste and very flavorful. Nothing comes with it so I ordered a side of rice. The second time I had one of the falafel wraps and the third time I had their Ikaro salad. Customer service is nice, although, it does take a little bit for drinks and the food. The food is fresh and the ambiance is great for spending time with friends and digital nomads. Plug ins are offered along the walls and more on one side then the other. They also have outside seating. The music is not too loud. Overall I definitely recommend this place for any part of The day!
