Hotel Boutique La Solera del Pozo — Hotel in Santa Marta

We stayed there for 2 days and it was a pleasant experience. Carlo, the manager, was very nice and super helpful and called us a taxi when we needed to go to the airport. The hotel itself is very quiet besides the street noises. They were pretty good about keeping our rooms clean as well.

Pros: up to modern standards; has a smart TV, good wifi, and air conditioning and fan. staff is friendly and helpful location is in the historical center (centro historico) and close by many restaurants and tour guides hotel is pretty safe and has a pool (although when we were there no one uses it and water was stale) has a hanging rack for clothes and a safe box beds are big simple yet modest rooms free breakfast (which we didn’t get to utilize in our stay)

Cons: the only downside is water in the bathroom. It might be a Santa Marta water thing but it was a bit yellow no small refrigerator if you want to keep some leftover food or drinks colder (not necessarily a...

This hotel is centered around a small courtyard with a pool at the base, which is good for cooling off from the hot temperatures in the daytime. There is a hottub and lounge area on the roof space too.||Our room, like most of them I think faces the courtyard, which means it doesn't really have any external windows. The air conditioning worked well and the shower had good pressure - beds not especially comfy but good for one night.||We had a traditional breakfast prepared in the morning which was hearty and tasty, there's always filtered water available for filling bottles etc. in the breakfast area.||You are a block or two from various restaurants and bars, but we were advised not to wander too far from this immediate area as the rest of the downtown area is not considered particularly...

The day before my arrival I got a message via booking saying everything was ready for us. To my surprise when we arrive to the place they said they didn't have a room for me. While I was flying to my destination they cancelled on us. They sent us somewhere else and the person at the desk was at least apologetic. No explanation was ever given and we had to take our bags again and start walking under the heat in the search for somewhere to stay.
