Mammamia Comida Italian - Pizza and Pasta — Restaurant in Santa Marta

Best pizza I have ever enjoyed! I stumbled upon this hidden gem purely by accident when my business associates decided to dine again at the same restaurant we enjoyed the previous night. I decided to opt out and explore the area instead. During my walk, I was drawn to the lively Salsa music coming from a local bar. Behind me, I noticed Mammamia Comida Italiana.

A pleasant stranger approached me: "Where are you from?" Me: "Atlanta, Georgia. You?" Pleasant stranger: "I’m from Italy!" Our conversation quickly shifted to Italian. Pleasant stranger/new best friend: "Signore, mangi qui!" (Sir, eat here!)

My partner and I had dinner here tonight and we were both so happy with everything they had to offer. Walking up and down the streets as a tourist can be a bit much being with all vendors and restaurant hosts competing for business. The owner of this restaurant was so polite, charming and gracious when he very calmly pointed out his restaurant to us. We weren’t hungry at the time but it stuck in my head enough that I had to go back when we were ready to eat. The service was amazing, the restaurant was cute, clean and far enough away from the street that it felt like a break. The FOOD! Was so good. We had dinner here after receiving a recommendation to try their food. The pizza we found good, the eggplant was ok. The ambiente is cozy and the owner of the place gives a feeling of good quality. Only bummer was the very junior staff that seemed fairly untrained. The girl got our order twice wrong, we needed to ask several times for the second glass for the water bottle that we ordered - which we ordered at room temperature and it came very cold with one glass with ice (for two people). The wrong pizza came, ww had to ask several times for adjustments until we gave up.

Unfortunately they didn't have any of the 4 possible desserts that they had in the menu. What a pity. Still the...
