This was a very small and reasonably priced Inn, just up the hill from Santa Elena, overlooking some beautifully lush grounds. The owner was always available, friendly and engaging with us. The place itself was very nice, much of it home made and mostly very comfortable. The shower was a bit tricky and ultimately took a question to the owner to learn how to adequately use it. A cold shower could have been avoided if the information was provided to us up front. It was a tricky and tenuous hot water system that was not intuitive to figure out. Once we were given the information on how to use it, we were able to make it work well enough to get a hot shower, but the system seemed a bit limited for the amount of hot water that was needed. Every morning you get a nice breakfast, this starts with fresh fruit, juice and good coffee. This is followed by an egg of your choice with toast and butter and jam, or you can choose pancakes. Breakfast is served on the terrace in good weather, no need to rush you, each room has its own terrace table and chairs. A 9 out of 10||Con: Hard bed, water pressure when showering. Tip: open the shower tap, the water is hot, let it cool down to 'your' temperature and get wet. Close the tap and start again ... No sun terrace with loungers to relax. It was also a bit uncomfortable for us because we were given a handicap room. That made the bathroom and the toilet a bit...
Read moreOverall our experience was great! Ernesto was fantastic. Communication was always clear and he was easily accessible if we needed help. The location is perfect, a short walk from the center of Santa Elena, we had a free place to park our car, and he had great tips on where to eat or what activities to do. Breakfast was also perfect and he was accomodsting when we had an early morning tour to have it ready before we had to leave. We miss having breakfast on the porch and beers on the swings at night. The WiFi was also the strongest we had while visiting Costa Rica, a huge plus for us as we wanted to send pictures to family and friends. Thank you so much and we can’t wsit...
