Our stay at Monteverde Villa Lodge was absolutely delightful! The lodge served as our cozy home for two nights while exploring the beauty of Monteverde. Although the bed is very creaky. Read moreStayed at the Village Lodge for two nights during our trip to Costa Rica. First off, I would consider this more of a homestay than a hotel. The owners seems to stay on the property and are active in its day to day operations. We stayed at a pretty spacious cabin, but the bathroom was quite small and had very limited option. They just have one shower gel/soap so it’s better to carry your own shampoo or conditioner. The room by itself is quite basic and seemed dated. The location of our room was way in the back so there wasn’t much in terms of a view. So recommend getting the cabinas in the front. The location of the property is prime and is just minutes by walk to the local downtown restaurants and supermarkets.
Breakfast is modest with limited options but had no complaints. Again homestay style.
A big shout out to Bobby - the very very friendly lab on the property who ensures that every guest has a smile on their face every time they...
Read moreA nice, friendly hotel, albeit a bit tired, of timber construction, but with lovely staff and very functional. We stayed in a detached cabin, with plenty of room and were very satisfied overall. The breakfasts were very good and the grounds were nice. It's located in a quiet neighbourhood, 10 minutes walk from the bustling town of Santa Elena. We visited the Tree House Restaurante on a few occasions, which was a bit expensive, but very nice, in the centre of the town and built around a large tree. We also enjoyed the Frog Pond Ranario, in the town. Again, expensive, but the ticket lasts all day, so you can visit during the day and the evening, which is very necessary. Whilst in the area we did 3 activites with The Three Brothers Tours, that were all superb and well recommended, with an abundance of wildlife, including our first sighting of the fabulous...
