Major Apartments Dubrovnik||(We had apartment number 2, floor 2 of 3)||||+Very good location, in the old town, close to everything, restaurants, etc.||10min walk to Banje Beach.||3min walk to the groccery store Konzum.||5min walk to Pile Gate where all the taxis and buses stops.||The next aisle up is to the cable car and the bus to the airport.||+Fridgerator, kettle, kitchen utensils, etc.||+Could fit 4 persons, if 2 are sleeping on the sofa/couch.||||-Difficult to stand straight at the kitchen, because of the ceiling.||-Need to put on the water heater at least 1h before taking a shower to get warm water.||-No hairdryer.||-Air condtion is only on for 4h, then the water tank needs to be emptied (the tank is on the side on the buttom).||-There is only a standalone fan in the bedroom, no air condition.||-Only 1 ceiling-lamp was working in both the living room and the bedroom (rest of the 5 was broken), 1 lamp is enough but anyway it needs to be fixed.||otherwise there are wall lamps that was good enough.||-Some mold in the shower wall, shower curtain was old and moldy in the bottom.||-There is no swimming pool, even if its written in the website (I asked the reception).||-No balcony, difficult to get the towels dry after the beach.||-No schampoo or body lotion, only soap.||-Noisy because its close to restaurants, etc.||||The reception is in the souvenir shop, only opens around 7am to 9pm.||When we wanted to have the apartment cleaned, we had to tell 1 day ahead (got informed when we arrived), but one of the reception girls didnt know that.||"Only" around 40 steps up to the apartment, there are more steps at Ploce area.||Could pay with euros or kunas for the apartment, but only with cash.||||I give this apartment a 4 stars because of the location and the price we gave.||Its very difficult to get an apartment with good location to everything and not having to go...

What a great find, This apartment was very clean and tidy, located in the Old Town part of Dubrovnik, that means it was inside the city walls. A great location to enjoy all that the Old City has to offer, it wasn't up hundreds of steps either just off the Main street, so that meant that if you wanted to pop back in the middle of the day "when all the tourists get off the cruise ship's" and have a lunch in your room or just to chill it was ideal. we arrived at the address provided, knocked on the door, "No answer?" how odd we thought have I got the correct address? but all was soon sorted out when I asked in the little tourist shop just down two steps and opposite "She said that "this was reception" we were then shown to our room how delightful. All in all a great little place to stay. Apparently there is a pool that you can use but we did not try it out so could not coment. I stayed for 2 nights with my husband and 2 year old son. Property was really easy to find using Google maps and its location made it an excellent base for 1.5 days exploring dubrovnik. There are steps up to and within the property however this is to be expected given the location. |The apartment is small, but fine for a short stay, and clean.|Major problem for us was that it is only an air conditioning unit in the lounge, is isn't effective in 32 degree heat, and a basic fan in the bedroom. This caused very unpleasant sleeping temperatures and our son got very bad heat rash as a result. I would not have stayed here had we know the airconditioning was just a fan.
