Positives: Really fantastic location, could not have been better, right by the main strip with all the restaurants, would highly recommend Trinity Asian food and Pizzeria Scala nearby! 5 minute walk down to the beach for lovely sunsets each evening, 2 minute walk to a large supermarket with a great bakery inside and a few minutes walk to the main bus stop which can take you into Dubrovnik old town in 10 minutes or so.|Very good Value accommodation for the area and the manager is really nice and he is always there to help when he can.|The transfers booked by the manager to and from the airport were brilliant and the cheapest price we could find, extremely reliable for timings. |We were able to keep bags in office on our final day after checkout which was helpful also.||Negatives: |We were really disappointed to find the double bed has an awful foam mattress where it is like you are sleeping on a slant all night- I have never stayed in a place with a mattress this awful. The pillows were also really lumpy and I did not sleep well most nights. I understand the price is really good value but I would rather have paid a bit more to at least have a decent mattress and pillows! Everything else about a budget room doesn't really matter as long as you can sleep okay, please consider updating these as itll make a huge difference to guests!|Also the walls are very thin, so take earplugs! Our upstairs neighbours were playing very loud music and shouting alot of the night until 2am and it was as though they were inside our room.|Also balcony is shared with other guests, opt for the top floor twin room as I think this one has their own balcony and might not be as noisy.|Finally the room did not feel very clean, we had multiple bugs in there also so this could...
Read moreDubrovnik is small, but charming and very atmospheric. depends on the people three days is a sufficient while the other three days a little. If you like traditional style and economical guesthouse , I would recommend the Villa Micika . Micika is a small, family run hostel and is very conveniently located. very frequent bus service runs from a stop within a 2 minute walk from the Villas to to the Pile Gate at the entrance into the Old Town. in the vicinity of the villas have a promenade and is an excellent location for walking . If you do not want to venture far afield the Villa owner will arrange for a Taxi to meet you at the airport for about 25 EUR ) each way. Coach and boat trips can be booked in the Villa . Also within very easy walking distance are shops. a pharmacy, Post office, Bank - in fact almost everything anyone might need on a self catering holiday.Definitely Dubrovnik. If you have not been You really must go to Dubrovnik first as it is a...
Read moreThis hotel looks like it once was a fairly classy place, but it has definitely lost its charm. The location was about the only positive thing about the Villa. ||||The room was small, with no windows and minimal lighting. There was so much dust on the night stand, I had to clean it just to be able to bear sleeping in the room.||The bathroom was also tiny and the shower stall was grungy, with unidentifiable black gunk around the edges. The shower door was broken and there was no bath mat for the similarly grungy bathroom floor (although we were given one after we asked).||||Micika offered a very small, shared refrigerator out in the cluttered hallway and it was so heavily frosted that its freezer was unusable. Dishes, also out in the hallway, were few and dirty.||The bed’s mattress was very thin and we had only two small pillows. The extra bedding, which we didn’t use, was wadded up and stuffed into the closet. ||We could hardly...
