We dined at Pantarul on a Sunday night. The three of us ordered spring rolls, stuffed zucchini, veggie risotto, seafood risotto, and the burger. Initially, we had a relatively positive experience and found the food quite tasty. Unfortunately, the moment we arrived home, 2/3 of us began vomiting. We attributed this to food poisoning from the veggie risotto, as this is the only dish the two of us had shared. (For lunch that day, all the three us had homemade tomato sandwiches.) We continued to have food poisoning symptoms for three more days, which was an unfortunate derailing of our trip.
The following day, we called Pantarul to notify them of our suspicions that we had contracted food poisoning from their restaurant. Our only objective was to prevent other diners from having a similar experience. We were immediately met with extreme aggression from the manager. He told us that it was "impossible" that we had contracted food poisoning from Pantarul and that we should apologize to him for insinuating such a thing. He also suggested that we were trying to make a quick buck, although at no point did we request reimbursement. The manager was extremely angry, loud, and verbally aggressive. We truly could not get a word in, and eventually had to hang up as he continued to yell at us.
In conclusion, I cannot prove with certainty that we contracted food poisoning from Pantarul (although the timing is suspicious). However, I am giving the restaurant a one-star review because of the utter lack of professional and empathy for...
Read moreA Truly Memorable Experience – Above and Beyond Service We had a reservation for 6:45 PM but, unfortunately, our flight into Dubrovnik was delayed by nearly two hours. I called the restaurant to explain the situation, expecting we might need to cancel. To my surprise and great relief, the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, they offered us a new reservation at 9:30 PM without hesitation. That level of generosity and understanding set the tone for the entire evening.
The food was nothing short of incredible. I had the slow-braised ox cheek, which was deeply flavorful and comforting—like a warm, hearty meal you'd have at home, only elevated. We also ordered the veal cutlet, which was a special that night, and it was beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection.
Our waiter was not only attentive but also impressively knowledgeable about the menu. He guided us through the dishes and recommended a wine that paired perfectly with my meal.
One of the biggest highlights for me personally was the availability of gluten-free bread and the fact that the menu was clearly marked with gluten-free options. As someone who needs to avoid gluten, this attention to detail made the experience all the more enjoyable and stress-free.
I would recommend this restaurant a thousand times over. From the exceptional food to the welcoming and accommodating staff, it was an unforgettable dining experience...
Read moreWe ordered 3 dishes ; one starter - anchovies and prawns ceviche it comes with small flakes toasted focaccia. I love the bread. the salad is on the edge for me. It is nice and not a conventional ceviche. The dressing is quite mild accompanied with seafood herbs so you gonna taste more of the fresh raw seafood aspects. The freshness is superb but I would love to have some acidity to cut the rawness. I think is very unique but I won’t order it again. The mains I order sea bream braise in white wine and it comes with long thin shredded pepper, carrot and other veggies. It feels light as there is no carb in this dish. Load of nice olive oil coating the veggies and it cooked but super crunchy. The fish is super fresh you can tell when you break the meat and they separate like think petals. It is braised in wine so I feel that it took away the sweetness of the fish, still it is very nice and the quite favourful. The last one is prawn risotto, this is to confirm that it is the absolute best as other reviewers said. You get as much prawns as the rice, the prawns are fresh and you can taste the subtle sweet in them. I like that the made them in big bite size . Rice is cooked Al Dante, I am a rice dish eaters. I would come back and recommend this one to seafood and rice lovers. You should book this restaurant if you go...
