upon arrival we were checked in by carlos who greeted us on behalf of the host, he gave us some good pointers for the town and our stay. However, the air conditioning wast working when we checked in and the room was very hot, messages were sent back and forwards to the host who we never met during the complications, only messages and one phone call which was quite abrupt. the room was that hot i personally had to google fault codes and try to clean the filters in the unit, which isnt ideal for being on holiday. the host assured us that the unit was working in the morning (we checked in at 12:00) carlos came back to the property and two maintenance/cleaning staff were in the room next door who tried their best to get the unit working. after 3hrs, the unit suddenly started working, not sure what the fix was. while the three men were there, the host rang and and spoke to me in a quite an aggressive way and offered no compensation. the room was not in a fit for purpose state when we checked in but carlos and the team did everything they could, i couldnt fault them, only the distant host.|the property however was in a great location and stunning views of the harbour.|One thing to note is that there are two lockable doors to enter the property with a key lock on both sides. This could be a massive issue if there was a fire or an emergency in the room and having to find the key to get out or god forbid one person has left the room and theres someone else trapped in the room without a key. Read moreI have never posted a negative review about a hotel before because I know how difficult it is for small businesses but felt I needed to say something.|1. First of all I really feel the pictures online misrepresent the rooms. Our room faced the back & other buildings. No curtain. It was dark in the room. Very depressing. At first I thought it was a wall behind the small window but they had closed the shutters because of no curtains & lack of privacy. Yes they did put up curtains the next day. All the pictures on site show the view of the ocean & being bright & airy. Yes this might be the one bad room but it is 1/4 of all the rooms. So you have a 1 in 4 chance of getting this room! We stayed in room #1.|2. Big Safety concern- There are 3 doors that you have to un-lock deadbolts from the inside to get out. The room door, floor door & front door. My husband went out to get water after a late dinner & realized that if any emergency happened I would be locked in there. You cannot get out without a key. Management really needs to change this. Perhaps Croatia doesn’t have any safety codes. Wouldn’t want to be here if there was a fire or earthquake that is for sure. Made me very nervous. |3. One skinny pillow per person. Come on, really?
