Kiva Bar — Restaurant in Grad Hvar

I spent my entire youth in Hvar, every possible summer from 1993 until 2007. Now I visit rarely, as it became too crowded with tourists for my taste. Kiva used to be by far my favorite bar in Croatia. It was one of the last strongholds of good rock and pop music, the only place where my friend would go wild on the dancing floor to "Dancing with myself", and where the manager would indulge me with "Free bird" (and play through the entire solo as well). Now Kiva plays popular music for new generations, but the crew is still the same as it was 10 years ago. And the crew is what always made the place special - the most kind and friendly bar staff in Hvar. Prices are still better than any other place in the town, and despite the music, they still attract "normal" crowd. Hello Kiva bar. I would like to enquire about the name/details of one of your bouncers/staff members. Bald man, maybe 5ft10-11 tall, quite portly (overweight). I went to get my drink which I had rested on a wall, and unknowingly crossed a no entry rope by a couple of feet. This man then came over to me and without telling me to move started shoving me and actually slapped me in the face twice. This was utterly astounding to me considering I was not being rude or aggressive in any way and would have been perfectly happy to move. He then continued to threaten me and my friends. Great place! Great music. A great variety of drinks in a variety of sizes. Great for anyone young or old that is down for a good time. Never was disappointed (even when I went x5 nights in a row). If you’re into the YOLO life, this is the place for you!!!! Be prepared to lose a few things including your dignity and your clothing (hehe).
