We have been here 2 times. This is about fish. You can see this from the map and the design. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the theme extends to the ceiling. The first time we had the bruschetta as a starter and the shrimp ravioli and gnocchi as a main course. Also had dessert. The second time again the bruschetta, as a main course the fried sardines and the black risotto. The service is really correct, very friendly and above all fast. You've barely sat down and you've already received your card. They are then quickly ready to take your order. From a commercial point of view I completely understand this, but from a guest's perspective I want just a little more space. Then it is not noticeable that people want to quickly re-use the tables for the next guests. My only comment is if a customer barely touches a dish, the service should do something with it in terms of customer friendliness. Even if a dish is not completely to your liking, the customer still leaves satisfied. That is not done. You are only asked if you are ready and further it goes. This can be improved. Everything is easy when things go well! The food. The bruschetta is really tasty and is often ordered. Two with a tomato-shrimp mixture with a sweet touch. Two with cream cheese and smoked salmon and two with anchovy spread. This dish is for 2 people and costs €18. So good portion for relatively little money. If you then take the gnocchi, you will have to deal with a small setback. The sauce for the gnocchi is the same tomato-shrimp mixture as on the bruschetta. And then the sweetness in it starts to dominate. The shrimp ravioli was delicious. Good portion nice flavours, for me best dish of the dinner menu. The dessert, not home made. We saw the exact same dish listed as a "pastry" in a different place in a different shop. Took two bites and it was nothing special, not really tasty, bit grainy, "not my cup of tea". So I left it. The second time we had black risotto. It was tasty and a good portion. The sardines, well cooked, tasty but a bit monotonous. Potato salad with fried sardines. After 5 pieces, your dish is far from exciting and you still have a few more to go. However, price quality is really good here. Dishes are not expensive, rather on the affordable side. So from a price-quality perspective there is little better to be found in Split...
Read moreShameful about this restaurant. After almost an hour waiting, they tell us that we can only order main courses, which the owner has decided (curiously the most expensive dishes) all other dishes can not be ordered. Don't come here, there are many other restaurants where they care about their customers more than money. After complaining we left. At least the owner could have come out to give explanations.
Disgusting experience.
RESPONSE: Regarding the answer you give me, please do not talk about what is not true. I was seated at 21:15, when the schedule specifies that the restaurant closes at 23:00. I think that in almost two hours you have more than enough time to put any dish I order. And if you are in a hurry to close, the main courses are the ones that take the longest to make, not the starters. Clearly you only want to have tables that order main courses so you can make more money per table.
Of course the cooks have their schedule and it has to be respected, but as a customer, I also deserve respect, and I don't have to waste my time in line till you decide is enough, and you don't even go to the table and explain the situation.
Please, at least don't lie in the answers you give here publicly, I take very seriously what I write here, and what others write. I only had one night in Split and you make me waste it....
Read moreIn the sea of tourist traps in the center of Split, this is a real little paradise for locals, where you can see the signature of authentic Dalmatian/Mediterranean cuisine that successfully defies the scourge called junk food.. In just a few ordered dishes and the decoration of the plates, you can see that the team knows their job and that they don't "dance for just one summer" like a sea of other places... The appetizer of fish bruschetta prepared in a "more modern" way was great, followed by excellent gnocchi filled with ricotta and salsa and even better fuzi with truffle. As a local, I highly recommend this little gastronomic paradise that is carefully thought out and where a lot of detail has been paid attention to, the team goes ahead and publishes this written recommendation and verbally to...
