Overall unimpressed. This place also known as Florenc 41 on other sites.||||Travelling with a friend, we were meant to stay 4 nights but left after only 1.||||The Hostel is only a five minute walk from Florence train station.||||When we arrived we were met by the owner. The hostel is not actually a hostel but a very old (think 50's or 60's) unit block. The units are chopped up into their individual bedrooms. There is a microwave and fridge in the "common area". The only sink and running water is in the bathroom.||||The toilet is new and clean however tiny, anyone above average height will knock their knees on the door.||||The bathroom was fairly large. The sink was filthy and looked as if someone had just cleaned a whole load of lint from somewhere and emptied it into the drain. The bathing area was ok, but the shower nozzle hand held. ||||The beds were not very comfortable, this was our main reason for moving on. You could feel the wooden slates under the "mattress". The room however was spacious and warm. There was wifi available however it was low and really only worked when standing near the toilet, otherwise it was slow and prone to dropout.||||Would I visit again? No. If you don't mind the more extreme examples of hostels around the world by all means book. Having said that though, there are inexpensive hotel not much more expensive than this place only a...
Read moreWhat a delightful Gem. I will say I was apprehensive when I made this reservation, but I was very wrong. It seems to be located in an older building near the train station in Prague. Easy walk to historic Prague and as the proprietor will tell you, once there you do not need public transportation. The room was a large private room for 2. It has a large sleeping/living area with separate kitchen and bath. The kitchen had the things you need to cook a meal and markets are close by. Wonderful view to wake up to each morning through large windows. Care had been given to the room décor with a theme of old movies. Room had a feel of 1920's-50's and was very homey. Mr. Novak, the proprietor, greeted us and made us feel right at home. He had a small map and marked all the attractions and ideas of things to do. There were many restaurants in the immediate area so you did not have to go far to eat. Unfortunately our trip was cut short by a day due to an airline error but I will return to Prague one day and I will stay with Mr. Novak again. Oh and you will love the elevator and it will get you to the correct floor despite...
Read moreThis hostel is also called Florenc 41 on hostelworld. ||||The room had a vintage style (old URSS style) which was nice. The place was quiet, clean and well located. The owner of the hostel gave us some indications were to go on a map, which I really appreciated. Since there was only two other rooms on the same floor, we barely met other travellers. If you want to meet other people to party, it's maybe not the best hostel, but it's definitely a good place to stay for a nice sleep (the room was pretty big!) at walking distance from the center.||||Like other people mentioned, it's not a ''real'' hostel. It's like an appartment with three bedrooms, a common room with a microwave and a fridge and a shared bathroom (toilet on one room, shower and sink in an other room). When I was there the internet...
