Golden Apple Apartments — Hotel in Prague

It's hard to say if this accomodation was good or bad as I can't say it was super good and i can't say it was bad either. I guess it all depends on your standards.||||The welcoming was very friendly. The guy that received us was clear in all his explanations. However the general 'entry' to the appartments could do with some maintaining. Weeds were growing next to the front door and the pot plants had had their best time. When you enter you enter a dark space which is dimly lit. We noticed light bulbs were missing. The smell isn't welcoming either. Indeed a bit of a damp closed up smell. I wouldn't want to stay in the downstairs appartment. The entrance room is big. It isn't hard to walk down to the tourist office and go and get some folders and maps and put them on a table there. We were handed a map upon arriving but it is nice to check some folders. Maybe even put a guestbook there?||||Our room was on the second floor. The guy helped us up with the suitcases which was a nice gesture. The stairs are old and very tricky. You better not be drunk when going up or down them. You can literally break your legs here. Especially the small platform at the bottom of the stairs which is the same colour as the rest of the floor is tricky. When I came down the first time I didn't notice it. I thought i was down. You can easily trip there. I advise as a tip to put a tape on the edge of that last tricky step. I wouldn't advise this to elderly people or disabled people.||||The room was ok, beds were comfortable, cleaning could be a bit better. I found cobwebs on the insides of the windows. There's a closet which is closed and that seemed to have the boiler or something in it. Weird thing was that even when we weren't using hot water it would turn on. So i guess it serves other appartments in the building too. It woke me up a few times in the night.||||What concerns sleep quality. I was in a room near the street and I hardly slept the two nights we were there. Windows don't seem to keep noise out. There were people passing in the night laughing and talking, cars making noise, alarms going off, at around 5 am in the morning there also seems to stop a car to deliver something (happened twice so i guess it happens every day). My parents in the other room facing the small courtyard didn't hear a thing and slept good. So it all depends where exactly in the building you are.||||Breakfast offered was very basic, not kept cold (in a 35°C heatwave), the 'juice' was undrinkable. Basically it was water with a bit of flavour. The scrambled eggs were good and the possibility to make hot dogs are a plus. It's put in a corner of the cellar and very unhandy to move around when there are more then two tables present. I constantly felt hurried as I kept people waiting who were standing in line to take from the small buffet. It is served down in the cellar. There's a bit of weird smell, they tried to make it cosy with sheepskins and everything, but they've also had their best days.||The girl on the first day was also very uninterested and not friendly; the second day there was another girl who was a bit happier to be there. ||||Wifi worked perfectly!||Location to the city centre is very convenient!||||We were able to store our luggage there untill we went to the airport.||||Price/quality it's ok for 3 people. Id emailed the apart-hotel to say we would be arriving around lunchtime & requested an early check in, which was told this would be fine, but when we arrived we were told no sorry come back later. The apart-hotel doesn't have a reception so you have to just follow the sign on the door into the bar & then had to wait for them to call the manager & then for him to come down to check you in. We if we could leave our luggage as we had just over 2hrs to wait for our room & the lady in the bar mumbled something & then led us down some uneven stairs to leave our cases. We arrived back later that afternoon to check into our room & the manager came to the bar to check us in & take our payment. ||We were not allowed to pay in local currency it had to be euro's which as a UK traveler we got a better rate in local currency so ended up paying an extra £25 for the room cause we had to use our debit card to make the euro payment when we only had local currency with us. ||The manager led us up to the top floor on very uneven floors & stairs with banisters that are hanging off the walls so cannot really hold onto them to go up. The manager also informed us that breakfast finished at 930am, which I think is rather early.||We'd also requested 1 large double bed as the website gave us the choice but it was just 2 single beds with single bed bedding pushed together. The fridge in the room wasn't cold at all so you couldn't chill anything in it & if you didn't make breakfast to say you needed your towels changed or anything then nothing got done in your room.||We made breakfast once out of 4 mornings as it wasn't worth getting up early to go down for. Проживали в Golden Apple Apartments со 2 по 7 апреля 2016 года в номере С6 на третьем этаже.||Летели Чешскими авиалиниями. Перелет без проблем, сначала волновались по поводу бронировки мест (у мужа рост 190 у сына 187), оказалось, что расстояния между сидениями настолько большие, что можно комфортно сидеть где угодно, а не только у аварийного выхода. В самолете бесплатно не кормят, но можно перекусить бутербродом-чипсами от 4 евро. Трансфер заказывали заранее, так как, были опасения относительно порядочности таксистов в аэропорту. Пообещали встретить с табличкой, на которой написана моя фамилия, но встречающий стоял с табличкой на которой было написано название компании. Народу было не много, поэтому, быстро сориентировались. Трансфер туда-обратно обошелся: 20 евро в отель и 16 евро в аэропорт. По прибытию к Golden Apple Apartments обратились к бармену в пивницу. Через минуту появился интеллигентно-предупредительно галантный управляющий Йиржи (с первого раза нашему человеку это имя правильно не произнести) прекрасно говорящий на русском. Отвел в номер, вручил карту центра города, на которой все показал, рассказал: где остановка ближайшего трамвая (№ 22, метрах в шестистах), где продуктовый магазин Zabka (приблизительно там же – метрах в пятистах), где ближайший обменник (их два, в дальнем курс чуть лучше). О нашем номере. Три комнаты: гостиная и две спальни. Одна светлая с видом на центр Праги, Петршинский холм, Страговский монастырь. Другая спаленка темная с видом на внутренний двор. Матрасы очень удобные. Кухня узкая, но полноценная с холодильником, микроволновкой, посудомойкой (таблетки для посудомойки не прилагаются), стиральной машинкой (порошка нет), газовой плитой, духовкой, чайником и всей необходимой посудой (штопор тоже есть))). Присутствует кухонное полотенце, губка и моющее средство для посуды. Два туалета со стратегическим запасом туалетной бумаги (рулонов по пять в каждом). Один туалет совмещен с ванной. На каждого гостя по два полотенца и по пузырьку с шампунем и гелем для душа. Телевизор стоит в гостиной, русских каналов не нашли, но при довольно стабильном бесплатном Wi-Fi проблемой это не показалось. В темной спальной есть сейф, ключ к которому Вы получите вместе с ключом от номера. Розетки везде, проблем с зарядкой гаджетов не испытывали. По поводу уборки номера нужно предупредить на завтраке, как вы хотите, чтобы убирали: каждый день, через день, выносили только мусор, меняли полотенца, или вообще никто не заходил. Ваши пожелания будут исполнены. Включенный в стоимость завтрак позволял нам забыть о еде до обеда. По месту расположения апартаментов. Таки, да, апартаменты на горе, с коляской не удобно, но, господа, какой вид!!! Утром поют соловьи и целый день тишина… ни машин, ни шумных компаний. То, что надо после многочасовых прогулок по городу. На трамвай можно сесть недалеко от Вацловской площади (пан Йиржи покажет на карте остановку) и за 15 минут вы уже в Градчанах, остановка «Pohorelec». Пять минут пешком с горки, и вы в номере. Талоны на проезд покупали в метро «Můstek» на Вацловской площади. Знания иностранных языков не обязательны. Один суточный талон на все виды транспорта (кроме фуникулера на Петршинский холм) стоит 110 крон, начинает действовать с того момента, как его прокомпостировали (пробивать один раз) ровно 24 часа без ограничения поездок и пересадок. Выходя из номера, нажимаете на выключатель слева, чтобы включить свет на первом этаже, а то не очень удобно в темноте ключом искать замочную скважину. О Пивнице при апартаментах. Уютно, чисто, шесть столиков, свечки. Предупредительный, вежливый персонал. Меню на русском: пиво 34 кроны (свежее, вкусное, особенно резанное), чай 35 крон (не пробовали). Вкусные Валаашские колбаски – 79 крон, маринованный сыр – 69 крон (очень вкусно)! Курс на момент нашего пребывания был приблизительно 1 крона 2,8 рубля. Евро в обменниках принимали по курсу 1 евро – 26 крон (иногда 26,5). Если неохота тратиться на ресторанчик, можно купить продукты в «Жабке» (стандартный минимаркет со всем необходимым). В Страговском монастыре пили местное пиво «Матушка», очень вкусно, но уже по 75 крон. Общие впечатления от поездки. Мы в Праге третий раз, по сравнению с 2013 и 2012, на улицах появились солдаты с автоматами. Полицейские с автоматами охраняют все административные здания. Патрули везде, где скопление туристов. Патрулируют военные совместно с полицией (заметили так же сотрудников в «штацком», спускавшихся в метро в составе патруля). Атмосферу это не портит. Не замечены привычные темные личности, трущиеся у обменников. Прибавилось бездомных. Беженцев в Чехии нет. А, впрочем, вечный город не замечает суеты, неповторимый дух манит вернуться обратно и побродить по...
