Check your bill. That's all. Long story short: Food is ok. Service is friendly. The place is nice. But it's dishonest.
Just an unfortunate way to finish the experience trying to make you pay for food and drinks you didn't other. And on top of it asking you if you want (not wish) to pay 21% or 15% service charge.
My wife wanted the soup and ribs both starter size as a main. She got the main course version of the ribs. Not the plan but whatever we ate it all.
But.... The real tourist trap / rip off for me. The waitress asked if we wanted to try the local schnapps. As it has been offered many times around town, for free, we said yes.
Not that I'm unhappy to pay for my stuff but we didn't ordered it. It was "offered" and not make clear it was an extra.
Check in the bill, we were given 2x doubles (4x 53kc) and asked to pay it all.
In the end we paid without arguments. Of course. They expect it. But we didn't give a tip. I realize it's probably a policy enforced by the boss who enjoys his golf trips around Scotland but anyway...
There are so many restaurants around this area. Just for that, no, I wouldn't...
Read moreI have read others reviews, and understood that situations with additional money in your bills - it is a usual thing for that restaurant. The waiter asked me about including 10% of tips in my bill and i agreed with that, but when i gave him 500 Kč (my dinner costed 375 Kč), - the waiter give me only 50 Kč back and that’s it. I found him again and started to ask why my cash back os only 50 Kč, because it should be 38 Kč more. Firstly he explain that thing that it is because i agreed for giving him tips, so he shouldn’t returned my anything. But after that a showed him on my calculator that 10% from 375 Kč is only 37 Kč)) He started to sorry, explained that he did a mistake, and returned me only 20 Kč, but he did not return the last 18 Kč because as he said “we haven’t got that small amount - 18 Kč in cash, so we can’t returned it back”. Of course it is not a big sum of money, but all that situation is very unpleasant to me, because the waiter tried to trick me even after i leaved...
Read moreThe place has a pleasant atmosphere and good beer, however the service is mediocre and the food we ordered was hard to eat. We were hungry and ordered a goulash soup ( be aware that you might get confused by the fact in menu there is a separate position for goulash soup 4 euro and beef goulash in bread or with dumplings 16 euro which apparently is not a soup and which I think is exaggeratedly overpriced). The soup was looking very unpleasant ( I was expecting something similar to Hungarian goulash) and had a smell of burnt sunflower oil, but the taste was more or less ok, considering that we were hungry. Also some shots of borovicka and becherovka were ordered but they brought them to us at the very end, after we finished all food. Also some rustic potatoes were ordered which were really good. Beside that facts, I can't say really anything good about these place, my rating is 1 star meaning the waiter and the chef would deserve a hammer knock over...
