As a 4* hotel, Hotel Schwaiger offers very attractive prices at the time of my booking. So what's the catch in the deal? Did it really live up to my expectation of a 4* hotel?||First the location. It wasn't that much of a good start. It was not within the walking distance of the old town, and the nearest metro/tram stop Hradčanská is 15 min walk away, and it definitely wasn't pleasant to drag your luggage through the cobble stoned pavements uphill and downhill. (it was a good test of how durable your luggage wheels were) There was a restaurant immediately opposite the hotel (as well as the hotel's own restaurant). But other than these if you need other food, or a supermarket or any other shop then you had to go back to Hradčanská.||Being near to Hradčanská has its own advantages. It is very close to the castle hill and it is a very convenient traffic hub to lots of places, including Cesky Krumlov.||So besides the location, were there any other alarm bells? Well in the one night that I stayed (Unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions, we could only arrive a few days later and so our stay here was just 1 night instead of 4.) I really couldn't find anything.||We got the attic room and it was spacious, clean and modern. I guess it was more like a penthouse than an attic as I didn't feel cramped there. Even the bathroom was spacious. You got all the modern amenities that you would get in a 4* hotel, including a coffee machine, an electronic safe and some slippers. (Yes you had to climb up the last flight of stairs as the lift could not reach there but that's understandable for an attic room) The beds were comfortable and being in a "remote" location means it was really quiet at night.||I guess the best part of our one night stay was really the breakfast in the next morning. The choices were plentiful and the quality was good, even the fried eggs tasted fresh and seasoned, and you could make your own waffle. It was a shame we didn't have a chance to try out the hotel's restaurant for other meals due to our limited time there.||All in all, if you do not mind the location I think this hotel...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem! This hotel provides fantastic value for money. It was a highlight of my stay in Prague and I’ll be sure to come back ASAP.
The staff speak great English and are extremely kind and welcoming.
The rooms are modern, clean, spacious and well appointed. My room had great ceiling height and huge windows (heat and sound insulated) which added to the feeling of spaciousness. The bed was very comfortable and dressed in high quality linens. There was a Nespresso machine and a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee pods provided. The room was nice and warm, as expected, but a detail that I am grateful for considering the extremely cold and snowy weather during my stay.
A complimentary bottle of Bohemia Sekt was provided on my final night which was a very nice touch.
The bathroom was sleek and modern, decent range of toiletries provided.
The hotel is located in a quiet residential district of Prague, surrounded by villas and embassies. You aren’t right in the center of the action, which I appreciated, but the old town and other tourist sites are within easy reach by taxi or metro - Hradčanská metro is an easy 5-10 mins walk away, and an Uber to old town (10 min drive) is around 150Czk.
Overall, a seriously impressive stay that exceeded all expectations. The value for money...
Read moreWe had an absolutely wonderful stay at SCHWAIGER hotel and were genuinely impressed on multiple levels. First and foremost, the cleanliness was outstanding—everything was spotless and well-maintained, making us feel completely comfortable from the moment we arrived.
The staff deserves special recognition. They were a perfect blend of kindness, friendliness, and professionalism, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. It’s rare to experience such consistently excellent service, and we want to extend our congratulations to the entire team for their efforts.
The rooms exceeded our expectations—they were even more spacious and beautifully designed than what the pictures suggested. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and all amenities were replenished daily without us having to ask.
What truly stood out, however, was how warmly they treated our small dog. It’s clear that the hotel values all its guests, furry ones included, and this thoughtful touch made our stay even more special.
We highly recommend SCHWAIGER hotel and look forward to returning in the future. Well done to the team—you’ve set the bar high...
