I always visit this restaurant when I am in Prague. I love the food, the ambiente and the excellent beer. I also recommended it many times it to my friends and praised it as an excellent opportunity to experience a genuine czech pub, far from the usual tourist places. My son went there yesterday (24.8.2022. bill payed at 21.21) with his friends and, although the food and beer was great as usual, they made an extremely unpleasant experience while paying the bill. They were 6 foreigners, my son the only one speaking a little bit czech. The waiter brought them 2 bills, 1 for 21 beers (they never, not even remotely, drank that much), and another for the food, with only 6 times the same generic name (like "food") on it, with an amount matching none of the 6 different plates they really commanded. When my son approached the waiter with the complain, he immediately recognised that he counted too much beer, made another bill and threw both original bills away, the one for the food included. He didn't want to accept the claim about the food, pretending it was too late. My son and his friends, finally, payed it. They are young, 18-19 years old,and not so experienced, they did not want to make troubles. They calculated it after and it was 25 Euro too much. Despite the excellent food and beer, they left very...

As I used to live in Prague for a few years, I've decided to get back to Prague for my 30th Birthday and bring family and friends together for a dinner. After some research for locations which would allow a dinner for a bigger group, I came acrros Restaurace U Veverky.

The conversations before as preparation for the dinner went really goodd since the beginning and the menu suggestions, which had to include Vegan options as per my request, looked promising.

The dinner ended up being fantastic!! 🤩 Everyone was really impressed by the delicious food and the really friendly and English speaking Staff. 🫶

It's not that usual to get Veganfood on a typical Czech Restaurant, so a huge heads-up goes for the Vegan starters and main dish they prepared: A M A Z I N G! 👏🙌

I would defnitely recommend Restaurace U Veverky if your a looking for a good location for your event or simply to have a nice dinner together.

Děkujeme...

Tasty food and good beer ! Restaurant in Prague 6-Bubeneč district, about 30 minutes slowly walk from Prague Castle.
The restaurant was full, we found a table without reservation. Lots of locals with families - that's a good sign.
You can pay by card, the service is friendly and understands Polish. The decor is more in the style of a pub or tavern maintained in a characteristic Czech style: many tables, space and a bar with many taps with beer We ordered goulash soups and three different main dishes. The soup tasted delicious the best I've eaten in the Czech Republic. Main dishes - very large portions, fresh ingredients, everything tastes good and looks appetizing. The beer was so good, at the end I also recommend a glass of local alcohol - Beherovka.Prices compared to the rest of the pubs in Prague are much lower. I paid around 35 euros for our bill...

As an American traveling through Prague, I was lucky enough to find this “mom and pop” restaurant. The layout is a bit different than I am used to. There is a large curtain at the door, to keep the cold out. Once through this, the staff are standing in front of several beer taps. I was eventually able to express that I was there to eat and they promptly sat me at one of their large tables. I sat and ate and drank there for about 4 hours and loved every minute of it. It does get quite busy at night, with many tables already reserved. The food was great - the goulash with bread dumplings was life changing. Despite the obvious language barrier, due to my complete ignorance of the Czech language, I felt at home the entire time. This will definitely be a stop when I come back with the family.

If in Prague, make it a MUST to go to this restaurant. 6 beers, 4 entrees and a large beer cheese appetizer was less than $50 (US dollars). Our menu was in English and Czech. We always order the pork with dark mushroom sauce, my husband gets the spicy goulash. It's PHENOMENAL with amazing and friendly service. Easy to get to and not touristy- Authentic Czech food. This is where the locals gather and be merry. Hands down the best food we've had so far while living in Europe. Service was great, polite and friendly. We do make a point of 1. Being polite and 2. Eating during off-peak times.
