Honestly, I wish there were more stars to give for the atmosphere :) But let's start with what caught my attention, appart from wanting to eat something after exploring Cathdral's Tower. Since the beginning here I was searching for a Garlic Soup. Sounds strange, but many restaurants just didn't have it. From 1 up to 4 different soups and NO garlic one? Disappointing. It was the time - I went in. Inside there was a quiet, darkish atmosphere. It was around 2-3pm. A friendly waiter assigned me a table in the corner in front of the bar. In my opinion one of the best places there. There was a candle on the table, and above and in front of me there was a speaker from which many modern popular hits were playing BUT in violin cover. Which made them 10 times better! I ordered a drink, a garlic soup and pork ribs, which was enough to fill me up. Food was delicious. And i believe i didn't even have to wait too much. You thought I finishedy story here? Well, buckle up! After a long journey during the 2nd day, full of ups and downs going here for a fine dinner was definitely the solution to cheer me up. This time it was slightly louder, and I was seated further from the speaker, but it's still fine. This time I ordered another garlic soup, a home-made lemonade and fried chicken with french fries. Everything was fine, until it was my time to pay... And when I went to the bar, I heard IT! The Gondor theme from Lord of the Rings! If even before that I thought that this place is hard to beat from my top list, after that it absolutely secured it's spot there 😄 What a way to get motivated after the dinner. Fabulous experience! Much recommended!

Hidden gem off the climb to the keep. Besides the door is wooden cutout of knight drawing the attention down a small set of stairs.inside you'll find a romantically candlelit cellar with medival decor. Long tables and benches invite you for a bite and a drink. The menu consists of traditional Czech dishes and popular grill options. It fits the medival setting. The menu is expansive and offers something for everything. Dessert options are a bit limited but the main courses make up for it. Try the skewer, garlic soup or the ribs. Staff speaks Czech and English and are more than willing to make you at home. The menu is even printed in English, Czech and German. We had such a great time we can back later for more.

One of our favorites for traditional Czech food in Mala Strana. Even though it is steps from the heavily tourist street, it's quiet. The food is excellent. We've eaten a lot of traditional Czech and theirs is very well done. The sauces are balanced and the portions are a great size. We love the whole roast trout and the mulled wine is great after a cold afternoon walk. The menu is long, but worth a look through and they have a better beer selection than most. If you're going with a party larger than to a reservation may be advisable for dinner. Weekends I think they run a medieval show of some sort but we tend to steer clear of the touristy areas on the weekend so we've never been.

Very nice restaurant with a beautiful mediaevilish atmosphere. The food is good, but compared to other Czech restaurants a bit expensive. But compared to the area, near the castle and the tourist centre, it is not so expensive anymore. The dumblings are not so good, but the meat spits are very well done. The place is a bit touristy of course, but even local people like go here.

EDIT: I went again to this bar, in which I am not a common but quite a reguar guest, going there every then and now. The last time I went there, I met a new waiter, who wanted to have an "extra service fee" of 400czk in cash, which could not be paid by card. When I asked him what was this about he told me this is a common service fee in Prague. When I told him it is not, he turned very angry and demanded we pay the service fee. There is no service fee, he rips of guests and puts the money in his own pocket. Former 5 point restaurant only gets one point from me now, very...
