U Zeleného Krále, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the city, truly delivers a dining experience unlike any other. As soon as you step foot into this quaint establishment, you are transported to a bygone era of elegance and sophistication. The name itself, which translates to "At the Green King," hints at the regal and antique ambiance that awaits you. Walking through the doors, I was immediately struck by the enchanting atmosphere that surrounded me. Soft, warm lights bathed the interior in a gentle glow, illuminating the rich collection of historical artifacts and currency displays that adorned the walls. The careful attention to detail in the decor truly evoked a sense of nostalgia, making it clear that U Zeleného Krále is a place with a deep appreciation for history and the stories it carries. On the culinary front, my friend and I decided to indulge in some classic comfort food: spaghetti and pizza. To our amazement, the dishes arrived at our table in record time, clocking in at just around 15 minutes. This was all the more impressive considering the low density of patrons during our visit, allowing us to relish a quieter and more intimate dining experience. It's worth noting that the rapid service didn't compromise the quality of the food; each bite of the expertly prepared dishes was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication. One of the highlights of our visit was undoubtedly the graciousness of the staff. The personnel at U Zeleného Krále were not only attentive and accommodating, but they also exuded a genuine warmth that made us feel right at home. Their knowledge of the menu and their willingness to assist with recommendations and adjustments further enhanced the overall dining experience. As for pricing, U Zeleného Krále strikes a commendable balance between the quality of the experience and the cost. Given its prime location in the city center, the prices were reasonable and fell well within the expected range. It's clear that the establishment values offering value for money without compromising on the caliber of service and ambiance. During our visit on the 23rd of July, 2023, U Zeleného Krále left an indelible mark on our culinary journey. It's a place that effortlessly weaves together a captivating antique atmosphere, swift service, delectable dishes, and a kind-hearted staff. Whether you're seeking a romantic evening, a leisurely meal with friends, or simply a retreat into the past, U Zeleného Krále beckons with open arms and a promise of an...

We came in and the waiter was very forward. After a few minutes he came to our table, we ordered food and during our waiting time (even though there was barely anyone) he kept saying to new customers that there was no room. He was also loud and we felt quite unsettled. When he came with our food he forgot a plate, cup and then brought us two extra pizzas even though we hadn’t ordered them (we didn’t take them). It seemed like the waiter wasn’t present in spirit, just in body. He was funny though, singing to songs on the radio. A lot of people left without even ordering and I’m not surprised. The pizza wasn’t bad as well but I think it...

Excellent friendly service, cosy atmosphere Service at this restaurant is superb, the waiter made me feel very welcome and was super-friendly! I only stopped over for a beer after visiting the castle (and needing to sit down somewhere warm) but the food looked lovely too. The interior is very cosy with wooden tables and chairs and makes a great atmosphere, giving it the feel of a comfy log cabin somewhere in the mountains. It is also very reasonably priced, also considering it is so close to the castle. Free wifi as well. Next time I will definitely come back for more...

Excellent pasta and pizza, we had the pizza Lucha braschi (w chicken) spinach spaghetti and the amatriciana spaghetti with chicken (which the host was happy to change from salami) ... one of the best pasta in Prague or even other countries I have tasted I must say! Happy w service as well... host was good to offer chicken instead of beef or pork so that made many choices possible for us! Kids enjoyed the hot chocolate (nice and creamy!) and we the beer...! We also had the tiramisu which was the icing on the cake!

I had an awful experience at the restaurant. I ordered a Pomodoro pasta and only took one bite; it was overcooked, bland, and not fresh – it tasted like cheap, reheated microwave pasta. Throughout the meal, I placed the pasta on the table's edge, and the waitress kept seeing it but completely ignored it and didn't ask anything. I even told her the pasta wasn't good when she cleared the table, but she took it away without offering anything else and still charged us. I strongly advise avoiding this place!
