Stayed for 4 days. Hotel is a few minutes' walk from a big shopping centre and a Metro station. The tram stop is about a minute walk away. There is a small Tesco and a DM nearby, and a big Tesco in the shopping centre. There are several restaurants in the vicinity, and the hotel itself has a restaurant (but we did not eat there because we have a favourite resto in Mala Strana). ||||Check-in was quick, and so was check out (even at 5AM there was someone at reception). On entering the hotel, you will notice a very fragrant smell -- really nice. ||||Our room was quite big, high ceiling. It had a kitchenette (fridge, hob, microwave, plates, glasses, cups and cutlery -- but not pots so best to get microwavable food if you're thinking of eating in the room). The toilet was separate from the shower and lavatory, which we did not like. There was only one English language channel (BBC). ||||Breakfast was OK (it can become boring if you have it for four days but should be fine if you're booked for just a couple of days). Eggs, sausage, bacon are cooked right in the breakfast area, which means they are warm (nice). Not much fruit though. But still all right overall.||||If there is one negative comment I could leave, it's the building right in front of the hotel. It seems to be unoccupied and there were graffiti -- it makes one think that it is not a secure area. But it actually is safe. We did not see any dodgy people lurking around. ||||It took me some time to decide whether to book in this hotel or another one at Mala Strana but I'm glad I chose this one. It's really very nice and I highly recommend it to travellers -- solo, couples...
Read moreI have stayed her numerous times and always been highly impressed, however, I felt the standard had slipped a bit, the room wasn't as spotless as it usually has been (103) and there was no remote control for the TV, not could they find one that worked it. The receptionist and room service did try and explained the previous guest may have taken it. It's not important to me but to someone else they may like the TV on, The TV is stuck on a side wall so not easy to watch if you were in bed. I was never given an internet password either.||The biggest disappointment is the reception closes is at 9pm and the door was locked when I returned about 11pm, but you can enter via the restaurant door, although not sure how I would have got in had I been out to midnight or later.||The hotel is ideally situated, mini tesco opposite and the tram stop 2 minutes away. The staff I spoke to were all very pleasant and welcoming, breakfast is very good and a good choice, the room is small but it wasn't busy when I was there. I ate out one night and used the restaurant downstairs the second night, you get 15% off as a guest of the hotel and the food was fantastic.||The second night in room 102 at about 2.30am a group of people arrived back and were having an hour long party ||Just a couple of minor issues but I will definitely be back again as I love the hotel and the location, the Andels metro is 8...
Read moreThe hotel web advertising looks reasonable, with photos showing a bright modern hotel. In reality, it was not quite like this, The hotel is easy to find, a few paces from the tram stops, so location is excellent. The entrance hall could be renovated. The reception office is smart and clean. The restaurant in the cellar bar is in keeping with the area, and service is friendly and efficient. It seems that many locals also use the cellar bar.||||Breakfast is ok, a small assortment of buffet items, but the room is too small to deal with a large number of guests. Its not easy to get a cup of tea - we mostly got warm water dripped onto a tea bag. ||||The staff on duty try to be friendly and polite, but there is no adequate arrangement for 24 hour cover, or even cover outside office hours. Our room had a very bad smell from the drains. The duty receptionist was not able to call on any assistance. Sensing our problem, I suspect she tried herself to clean the sink and shower. It's good that staff try to solve problems, but perhaps the management could help their staff a little more. ||||The hotel claims to be of four star quality. It does not meet these expectations. But if you need a low cost hotel, convenient for the city centre, but not in the city itself, this might be just the place that would...
