The pizza was ok, but the service was terrible. From the beginning I got the impression that the Slovak waitress serving us was of a cynical arrogant personality ("zlatokopka"), but I made the mistake not to leave instantly. Her arrogance got yet worse when we ordered one Pizza for two of us and no drinks. The pizza arrived pretty fast and it was just fine, but did not have much taste. Then I remembered that even a $1 pizza place in NYC would provide customers with five different condiments you could sprinkle over your pizza. There was nothing on the table, so I brought at least salt and pepper from the bar after the bar man helped me to find it. A few minutes later the waitress came, bent over our table and picked up the condiments and brought them back to the bar, not even saying sorry. Apparently they did not need it at another table, she just wanted to be rude. When we finished the pizza, the waitress came to ask if we want anything else. After I asked for the bill, she started talking to us angrily almost shouting at us if we pay with a card or cash. When I responded cash, she told me in an annoyed manner that I will have to go with her to the bar. When I gave her 2,000 Kč note, she said that she does not have a change - which was obviously a lie. Instead of arguing I paid with a card to be able to get out of this bloody place ASAP. I remember that this was considered to be a cool restaurant, but the level must have gone steeply down over the years if they employ if they employ a waitress that is so cheaply arrogant. I'm used to that the level of service in Prague is not like in the West and it time to time reminds us the communist past, but this really shocked me - to be shouted at by a waitress without a reason. I've traveled some of the poorest countries of the world, I've experienced rude waitresses of all kinds of nationalities, but this went beyond...
Read moreFirst time in Prague. We were walking and spotted this place along the way. Decided to stop by.
We didn’t have a reservation and most the tables were booked. The first floor was pretty full and it appears the upper level was booked. The waitress/manager still let us sit at a reserved table since the reservation was an hour and half away.
There is an English menu for those that don’t speak Czech, and the staff speak English as well. After browsing the menu, we decided on the bruschetta and fried cheese w/ fries to start, with a couple Antivegetariana pizzas as the entrees. One of us also got the mango fruit wine, and I got a Czech light beer.
Service was relatively quick, from the time we entered the restaurant to receiving the appetizers was around 15 minutes. Fried cheese and fries were pretty good, but the bruschetta was amazing. My friend really enjoyed the fruit wine and I was very happy with the Czech light beer.
We got the pizzas about 10 minutes after we finished our appetizers. Size of the pizzas were 30cm. The crust was perfect, slightly crispy on the outside but with a soft fluffy inside. Lots of meat on the Antivegetariana. Flavour wise it was one of the best pizzas I’ve eaten in a while.
Overall, I give this place a 4.8/5. Only “issue” is lack of atmosphere. Could use a bit of music. Unlike some of the reviews, the waitress/manager was not rude at all and was very accommodating. She does give off a “I don’t take crap from anyone” vibe but in a good way. The pizzas were great and we were happy with the appetizers and drinks. I’d definitely recommend this place, and hopefully your experience is as good...
Read moreLiterally the worst place ever in the whole Prague city. NEVER GO THERE, SAVE YOUR NERVES. The waitress is so incompetent and rude for no reason. Went there with my friend and asked for a table to sit, the waitress told us if you don’t have a reservation than it won’t be possible to place us. However when one table was done eating and about to go we asked if that is ok if we take their table after they are gone, they said NO PROBLEM. We sat afterwards, the table still had some plates, glasses, it was NO PROBLEM FOR US. All of a sudden the waitress came up to us and said rudely that we should have waited until she takes dishes and ONLY AFTER we could sit. She said that almost yelling at us and she approached to us pretty aggressively. When I said that is no problem for us she said again almost yelling that FOR HER IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. We were waiting that maybe she will take the dishes from our table, but I guess we are just too naive and believe in good things, by the time we were waiting another TWO tables were gone and she immediately cleaned up the tables and totally ignored us. She gave them the menu, when we were just sitting there. Why because of her we need to change our plans and walk in the rain(it was raining outside) just because she has a bad day. Everything there is filled with aggression, toxic attitude and rudeness. The service is the worst, so NEVER go that place, you will...
