Unpleasant Stay Due to Discriminatory and Rude Staff BehaviorI had a very disappointing experience on the last day of my stay, which overshadowed what could have been a decent trip. Most staff members were polite, but one older male staff member (very thin, wears glasses) was shockingly rude.When I politely informed him I might check out slightly late (past 11:00 am), he immediately responded in an impatient and condescending tone, saying, “I’m busy now, what do you want?” I apologized and assured him I would be as quick as possible. I checked out at around 11:15 am, handed over my room card, and thanked him. Then I overheard him loudly telling other staff and guests, “This person checked out so late, I’ll try to let you check in soon,” clearly referring to me. It was unnecessary and unprofessional.As I was picking up my luggage, I found an apple I had forgotten, so I quickly rinsed it using the sink nearby. He suddenly shouted at me, saying, “Do not use that, this is my space. You’ve checked out and are no longer our guest. These things are not provided to you anymore.” I was stunned—never in all my travels have I encountered a hotel staff member behave this way. I calmly responded, “Sorry, I didn’t realize I needed your permission to rinse an apple. Thank you for the reminder.” Instead of defusing the situation, he escalated it further, involving other guests and loudly claiming that I caused delays in their check-in. I pointed out that check-in starts at 2:00 pm, and it was only 11:30 am, so his claim was baseless.What was most upsetting was that I felt discriminated against. He seemed eager to serve the (white) guests waiting on the sofa, but treated me with hostility. As an Asian guest, this felt personal and inappropriate.Other Issues:Breakfast: The quality was disappointing. The hot milk tasted sour, and the fruits looked like they were cut the night before.
