I have stayed there twice, and the experience was similar. ||Advantages: We took a room with a private bathroom each time, and I found the price OK for Prague. The hostel is relatively easy to find, especially if you get there by tram. It's even within walking distance from the train station if you don't have a lot of luggage. The hostel is located in an inner yard and the walls are pretty thick, so it's pretty quiet in the rooms. They provide towels.||Disadvantages: The Wifi does not really work in the rooms, despite assurances from the staff. If you need Wifi during your stay, try to ask for a room that is in the main building and not in the back building. The rooms were cold. The heating works fine, but it's quite old and slow to heat up the room, so if you are only staying for one night it won't really help. The beds are pretty old, so you might have trouble falling asleep or you may wake up with with a back ache, especially if you stay there too long. Some of the staff has quite poor English, which may be an issue if you encounter unusual circumstances and need to discuss a bit more than just where you are from and how to reach the room (for example, perhaps you already paid for the room online, but they have no information regarding that fact).||Overall, the experience was OK, especially when you know what...
Read moreThis is a very good hostel for people who want to be close to the city. It is only 10-15 minutes walk to the main square, around which you can find all the tourist attractions. Bars and clubs are about 15-20 minutes so you can easily walk back to the hostel and not worry about late night public transport. In terms of the rooms, they are very basic and quite tired looking, and the beds aren't the comfiest, however everything was functional and sufficient for us while we stayed. Wifi is very good, enough to make facetime calls (unusual for hostels!) and noise level is pretty good too as you are not directly on the street, but in a block. The hostel is hard to find so take directions, and is not the cleanest. it also provides no cooking facilities at all, but the restaurant next door (brewery/ restaurant) is one of the best! Its really cheap and serves amazing traditional czech cuisine. If you stay in this hostel it is definitely worth visiting the brewery and restaurant. Staff were fine, and spoke...
Read moreFor the small amount we paid for the room we were not too sure what to expect as the pictures shown do not cover every room available. We has single beds as requested and our own bathroom. The room was very basic but clean and the shower in the bathroom was excellent with great pressure and easy to use. We didn't speak much Czech at all but managed to get across to the staff what we wanted and their grip on English was enough for us to get taxis ordered for the airport etc. Overall, very clean and tidy, basic accommodation and not too far from everything as long as you don't mind a walk, tram or taxi ride. Excellent value for the money. (If you want gold taps and waiter service, you will need to pay a lot more and get a hotel closer to the centre of town). We were happy with the cost as it meant more...
