National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror — Attraction in Prague

The information centre tells the most heroic story of the efforts of so many men and women and children during German occupation. Operation Arthropod is one we know well as we have Czech family. It's a most tragic tale but one that defines men and women as surrender in the face of such evil is never an option. The visitor's centre is well worth one's time. A visit to the crypt is a difficult one but does allows people a chance to say a prayer most poignantly for thoses brave men whom lost there lives there. The story of what follows and its magnitude is hard to comprehend but is one that we should all try to know and understand as it may just help us never allow such cruelty to be repeated where we have the power to stop it. This place and what happened here make us all feel so greatful towards all those across the World whom made the ultimate sacrifice for us all. The visitor's centre at Lidice is another such place you may like to visit which is just outside Prague. Today, it is a most peaceful place when the sun shines but even then you will be filled with sadness for those that once lived there. Incredible experience. This was my number 1 most anticipated place to visit in Prague and it did not disappoint. The tribute to these heroes (and to their families and hapless civilians who were massacred by the Nazis) is sobering and thought provoking.

Watch the movie Anthropoid and read up on the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia before you visit. But if you don't do any preparation in advance, you will still find yourself awestruck and inspired.

The impact of the museum is even more powerful when one considers that Czechoslovakia was barely free of the Nazis before the Soviet tyranny began.

National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror, Prag’daki St. Cyril ve St. Methodius Kilisesi’nin altındaki kriptada yer alan ve Nazi işgali sırasında Çek direnişinin önemli bir bölümü olarak kabul edilen kahramanlara adanmış bir anıt ve müzedir.
