Unfortunately, the hotel was very disappointing. When choosing Novotel you expect a certain level of service and comfort, but here, unfortunately, there was no such thing. The hotel rather corresponds to the level of Ibis, and this feeling starts from the check-in.
We were with family for 2 nights in early April 2025 Upon check-in it turned out that the window in the room simply did not close - it was physically open and it was critical. I immediately went down to the reception and offered not to check in and just give us the keys to a new room, as we were tired or as part of the check-in to immediately take the keys to the new room with us, as we arrived late and were with a child. But at first I was told that the hotel was fully occupied, however after an employee checked the window was faulty, the room was ‘suddenly’ available. This attitude does not correspond to the standards of a four-star hotel and Accor chain. I will keep silent about the fact that I did not hear any apology for this situation.
The room itself at first glance looks renewed and this is a plus, but on closer inspection it becomes clear that the repair is made poorly. In some places unpainted areas of the ceiling in the shower, dangling elements of fastening. I was also surprised by the lack of a wardrobe - this is typical for Ibis hotels, the room does not have basic amenities that you expect from Novotel (and that is available in other hotels of Novotel chain.
One of the key disadvantages is breakfast. It takes place in a common space for Ibis and Novotel guests, and as a result the atmosphere is absolutely not up to the level of four stars. Very crowded, cramped, noisy, food is sometimes in short supply and you have to wait for a refill. Feels like you have to eat quickly and make room. It's hard for the waiters to cope with such a flow of guests. The children's area also needs a major overhaul - everything looks tired and worn out.
One more thing - when booking I was guided also by the presence of a pool and sauna, but on arrival it turned out that they are closed for repairs. Perhaps I had overlooked this when booking, but to be honest, I expected at least compensation in the price for the fact that these facilities were unavailable.
Last - but this goes for the whole chain - the pillows are awful, replace them please, you don't want to sleep on them.
Overall, if it was just an Ibis, I would have been more lenient. But as a hotel, declared as Novotel, it clearly does not reach its level. I would recommend the management to reconsider the concept - either to increase the level of service and differentiate between Ibis and Novotel, or to be honest with guests in...
Read moreThis was my second visit to Prague and the main reason was participating in one of many concerts which performed in this great city. Previously, we were staying in 3 stars hotel and this time we decided to upgrade our experience. The other couple travelling with us suggested Novotel hotel and we agreed. Location - though the name suggest otherwise, the actual location of the hotel is within 5-10 minutes from the square. It's allocated on outskirts of old city in Praha 2. If you are a young couple, you will not have any problem with that. Otherwise, the hotel located on hill and it could be a little bit difficult to return to hotel by foot at the end of the day. From other side, there are metro and tram station 2-3 minutes away from the hotel. Room - we got room 628 which is on top floor, but there were strange noises and we asked to replaced the room. We were moved to 202. Both rooms look a same except in 202 we had bathtub. Also, 628 faces inner court and has no view while 202 faces street. The rooms are big enough, with queen size bed and sofa, flat TV minibar. Bathroom and toilet are separated which is, IMHO, very nice touch. Also, we liked the design of it. One issue was an AC, which did not cool the room even when we adjusted it to 5 degrees. The problem was solved after approaching to reception. Cleanliness - no issues whatsoever, either in room or other places in hotel Quietness - We had some concerns about a noise when we were moved to another room which was facing the street but it was never an issue. The hotel located on side street which has almost no traffic. On top of it , the windows were sound proof. The only issue was that because the windows are soundproof it is impossible to open them. Sleep quality - though many reviewers mentioned that they had soft bed, we found our bed to be very stiff. Also, the pillows were too soft , though there were another set of pillows in closet with different stiffness. Overall, we wish we had better experience. Staff - no problem here, they were very polite and effective. Amenities - free Wifi with good signal , no password required, 2 PC and printer in lobby with 40 min free use, shoe polishing machines in every floor, fitness center with nice indoor pool and dry sauna. Regarding the fitness center, very nice but we were disappointed that during weekends the operating hours from 8 am to 8 pm while during the week is from 7 am to 11 pm. Could be very nice after long walking day to swim in pool enjoy the sauna. Food - we enjoyed the variety, quality and freshness...

• Good location, walkingdistance to the most important things. • Nice standard on the room, bathroom. • Bed was OK. I personally like hard beds, but I didnt enjoy this one to the max. Was too hard with little to no dampening. Although better then most hotel beds so bed is approved. • Staff were mostly helpful and polite with questions.
Cons/bad • Bed pillows were bad. They were either way to soft and small so that ure head shrank to much in the madrass. There was also a hard one with "right" size but this one was not comfy, way too hard. I usually dont have problems with neck but my neck was sore on the last day. • We got a double duvet/bed blanket for our room. I called the reception and specifically asked for two small duvet/blankets and they brought us just one.. when I told the lady this she was just standing there like a questionmark, not very willing to help us so we just sided with this. We didnt have a good night sleep that night cuz there was too much blankets in the way. • We didnt get the right amount of towels, had to ask all the time. • They didnt clean out the obvious garbage even tho we placed everything in a paperbag so the food/rests remained. • Saturday morning was kinda a disaster. We came down for breakfast at around 9.30 and we expected it to be crowded but we didnt expect to stand in a line for 20mins just to take food. It looked like there was a shortage of staff, seats, and the buffet area was so small comparing to how many guests there were that you almost had to fight ur way through to get to food, super tight. ON TOP OF THAT, one of the two elevators were out of service so the line/que was super long and the funniest thing is that you werent able to use the stairs cuz the doors were closed. We had to go up and down to find this out. Rather frustrating if you ask me. The staff should be more solution-oriented and have had opened the doors at the stairs. Management really needs step up their game here. No information was shared regarding this. The breakfast food was also very limited this day. Extremely disappointing.
• With exception from the reception staff, people didnt know any english so it was hard to communicate. Example when bringing blankets, at the breakfast etc.
I would not...
