We came across this place as you normally do when you’re a clueless tourist. Reviews were over 4 stars but with healthy number of reviews, from other visitors, which normally is a good sign. We entered in the evening, the place was buzzing with people, and the overall atmosphere was superb. We were asked if we had a reservation, which we didn’t, but a waitress promptly got us seated at a table for 2. We placed an order for a goulash and confit duck. Now bearing in mind this restaurant/pub/bistro is Chezh the goulash should be a traditional thing they know how to make well, right? A bit like Italian should know his pasta and pizza. The waitress, when asked what beer would go with the dishes we ordered, didn’t really have a clue, not forgetting that this place was known for its beers. We thought, fair enough. Food arrived. The goulash was a reassuring dark brown colour but with so little beef in its centre, that the garnish which was on top of it (red onions and tomatoes) became the overall focus of the dish, as there was more of it than meet. This dish also had 3 slices of some customary white bread. The confit duck leg was ok in terms of how well it was done, however, it had too much salt and was swimming in a gravy which resembled to the one from goulash, and was accompanied by sweet red cabbage with gnocchi. The sweet red cabbage was just ok, but gnocchi? Disappointing, the shape, the taste and also it had a strange smell of some sort of oil it was cooked in. Didn’t eat the gnocchi. When we asked for the bill, which promptly dispatched, there was no asking by the staff if everything was ok with food. So, in Prague, lower your standards folks, as they don’t give a flying fig about that. It’s jut cultural thing, so don’t take it personal. We paid and left, needless to say there was no good night, and/or thank you. Overall? Very underwhelmed feeling when we left this place. Very average, very. Wouldn’t...

Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this place captures the essence of Czech beer culture while offering an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere is lively yet welcoming, perfect for enjoying a casual evening with friends or even a special occasion.
The beer selection is simply outstanding. As a brewery, they serve a variety of in-house craft beers, each with its own unique flavor profile. I highly recommend trying their Benedict lager—it’s smooth, refreshing, and pairs perfectly with the hearty Czech dishes they offer. The beer tasting flight is also a fantastic way to sample different brews, from light pilsners to richer, darker options.
As for the food, it’s a perfect blend of traditional Czech favorites with a modern twist. The portions are generous, and everything is cooked to perfection. The goulash was a delicious comfort food classic, was the best I’ve had in Prague.
The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about both their food and beer. The prices were more than fair for the quality and quantity of food, and the beer prices are great given how top-notch their brews are.

The decor and ambiance of the restaurant evoke the essence of a true Czech bistro, with a sense of community and tradition palpable in the air. This authentic setting was exactly what I was looking for, a place where locals and visitors can harmoniously mix around a shared passion for good food and exceptional beer.
Speaking of the cuisine, the goulash I ordered was simply delicious, a true celebration of traditional Czech cooking. The meat was tender and flavorful, stewed to perfection with spices that harmonized beautifully with each other.
Pairing this dish with a fresh beer brewed on-site was the perfect decision. It was a tasty reminder of the importance of beer in Czech culture and the pride they take in their brewing.
The cherry on cake of this culinary experience was the service from Ivana, our waitress, who was the perfect exemple of Czech hospitality. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely interested in our satisfaction!
